Netflix Reality TV Shows Like Snowflake Mountain

Back With the Ex

As the name suggests, this reality TV show focuses on people who get together with their ex-es with whom they broke up under the worst circumstances possible.

I am not saying that dating your ex is messy, but why would you go down that path again? However, it does talk about getting closure, if not romance, from their previous partners. If you’re confused about whether getting back together with your ex is a good idea, this series will definitely give you a few thoughts to consider.

It’s an awkward watch, especially when you see one of the couples being more invested than the other and how that comes through in their interactions with each other.

Love Never Lies

Dating reality TV shows and lie detectors don’t go hand in hand and I am constantly shocked when I find out that people go the extra mile to participate in one where they know things can go awry at any minute.

This entry in our list is one such show, where things just get messier in every episode. The lie detection, on top, wouldn’t have been that bad had these been secure couples in healthy relationships.

Oh, no.

These are couples, whose foundation is already pretty shaky with the truth or lie just adds another layer of hell, along with the given condition of distraction in the form of the other couples in a beautiful villa.

The Ultimatum

Now, where to start with this one?

This reality dating series, released just in 2022, has made waves and we are not even shocked. Featuring some very unhealthy relationships where one of the members of the couple gives an ultimatum to marry, the series is just chaos from the first minute.

Couples date others in front of their original spouses and it just goes down from there. The show proves that, first and foremost, don’t air your dirty laundry out in public and secondly, when in doubt, go slow and don’t put a ring on it.

Also, did we mention that almost all of these people are in their early 20s? I think marriage is a joint decision and giving ultimatums to your partners about these things never works out well. At some points, you just feel pity for these contestants, but then again, they really did sign up for this, apparently.

Love is Blind

A biggie in the dating reality TV genre, this one is drama, drama and some more drama throughout its runtime. The series, spanning two seasons and a Brazilian and Japanese iteration, is what dreams are made of if you’re into the chaotic and dramatic world of reality TVs.

The concept is simple, singles, who are ready to marry, date several people over the course of a few days and decide to get engaged. But the twist is – they get to see each other for the first time after they decide to tie the knot. Yes, guys, you heard it right. The goal apparently is that you fall for who these people are and not for their appearance.

What could go wrong?

Love is Blind has it all – some unhealthy, abusive relationships, tons of gaslighting and manipulations and reunion episodes which are fierier than the Bhut Jolokia. If you need a lesson on what not to do in relationships and what not to put up with, this one is it.

Indian Matchmaking

For everyone who wants a glimpse into how the rich Indians do it, Indian Matchmaking opened up a debate about why there’s so much wrong with Indian arranged marriages.

Sima Taparia from Mumbai takes rich clients in need of a partner and hooks them up with prospective matches, but not before looking into their birth charts and asking a pandit if the prospective matches have a future together.

It’s entertaining, weirdly and scarily relatable and the money being thrown around will make you want to donate to a charity and then take several showers to wash away these sins. You’ll never want to adjust with anyone ever again.

Sexy Beasts

I don’t even know what to say about this one. The concept is just so strikingly bizarre that it will make you question your life but also give you cringe. However, you won’t be able to look away. Featuring some stunning make-up and prosthetic work, people dress up like wild animals and go out on dates in public in order to, again, fall in love with personalities instead of outer appearances.

Honestly, you need to check it out to believe it.
