Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 3 Review
Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 3 brings back the horror from the Waters family to the surface. Clearly, the last two episodes were just child’s play when compared to the events of the recent one where the crippling horror makes a comeback, stronger and more mysterious than ever.
The third episode of Pretty Little Liars Season 2 starts with Angela Waters getting Archie a cake for their sweet sixteen birthday. Archie is seen head down drawing something. On showing it to Angela, who calls it their mother, we see the drawing is that of a monster with a red face. It is no brainer that the overarching entity or ‘A’ for this season is Archie and Angela’s mother- Bloody Rose Waters. What is more interesting is that this segment is a fan-made video that Mouse watches on SpookySpagetti with her sixteenth birthday only days away.
The girls’ identities and numbers are all revealed on the website with a strange call that connects them all. As important as delving into these details are, the episode focuses more on how Mouse feels disheartened with no one paying attention to her coming birthday while her friends plan a surprise birthday party.

Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 3 does not give us a sneak peek into the mystery until the last 15 minutes with the major focus of the episode being the girls in their Millwood work setting (Tabby at the movie theatre, Imogen at the creamery, Faran at the pool and Noa at the food joint) and, the new friends/co-workers in their lives. Of course, when there is an introduction of new characters and a change in the character arc of some existing characters, the eyes keep shifting to identifying who the main villain is.
Depending on how the episode tried to play it casual and end with a party with most characters present so we do not go down that rabbit hole, I would say it was a good attempt. But following the series’ track record, it is clear that our new ‘A’ operates through a team.
Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 3: Final Thoughts
Overall, Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 3 did a half-decent job. I was expecting more exploration and expositions. However, as the side characters who can be our potential villains this season are just being set, it feels like we can cut this episode some slack for not being brilliant.

You can watch Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 3 now on Max as well as Jio Cinema. The next episode of the show is scheduled to arrive on May 23, 2024.
