Zee5’s Pitchers Season 2 Review Contains No Spoilers

After 7 years, the Pitchers are back with their dream company Pragati AI. The first season showed us how 4 aspiring entrepreneurs, Naveen, Yogi, Mandal and Jeetu (Jitendra Kumar), set out on a journey to attain their goals. However, finding a place in such a highly competitive world was challenging. In the end, they did find an investor for their company. Seven years later, has everything worked in their favour? The answer is no.

Naveen, Yogi and Mandal have a fallout with Jeetu, and now only the three are running the company with 24 employees. One may think that Naveen and the co-founders must have carved a niche for themselves in the start-up world. But success isn’t easy to achieve, and challenges are never-ending. The team suffers as they aspire to grow big and find more investors to help them make Pragati AI what they aimed for initially. These testing times put their company and friendships at stake.

TVF is known for making very realistic and relatable stories. Hence, when 4 people quit their job to start something of their own didn’t seem an alienating concept to viewers. We know people who have done that or talk about doing that. But writer Arunabh Kumar takes us to the core of what happens when one decides to create their destiny. In season 2, Arunabh shows us that things are not fine at all.

In season 2, Arunabh and his team show us that building a start-up and running one are two different things. Entrepreneurs have to work hard and smart every day to show why they matter and what their potentials are. Our characters Naveen, Yogi and Mandal try their best to do it. But it was a dream of 4 people, and that missing piece greatly affected their decisions and journey.

Pitchers Season 2 Review: A Reality Check of How Success Isn't a Cakewalk in the Start-Up Culture

Season 2 packs a lot of stress, major hurdles, uncertainty and tension for the characters. Not only the company’s future but even friendships are put to the test. In a scene, Naveen takes a major decision by getting influenced by Bhati’s advice instead of discussing it with his friends. He is under the impression that probably it’s only his company. His decision ends up jeopardising the company’s future. That entire episode stressed me because it seemed like an end to their dreams.

The star of Pitchers Season 2 is Abhay Mahajan’s Mandal. In season 1, Mandal was often mistreated by his friends. But in season 2, he is shown as a responsible person who doesn’t take decisions out of emotions and panic. Abhay delivered an incredible performance. Naveen Kasturia had to display varied emotions as Naveen Bansal due to the unfortunate events that his character and company had to deal with. The actor has balanced his act well without going overboard even once.

Arunabh Kumar penned the story with his creative mind and easily played the favourite fan, Yogi. We all know Yogi is a riot when he talks and abuses others. But in season 2, his silence creates a major impact. Kumar did a good job. The rest of the cast also does a good job.

Pitchers Season 2 Review: Final Thoughts

Season 2 shows us the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur in an extremely competitive environment and changing times. We are given a reality check of success not being a cakewalk just because the start-up plan has earned the first few goals. Jeetu’s absence is felt all the time, and we can’t help but wonder how he would react to the mess that’s going on. But Naveen, Yogi and Mandal keep us hooked till the end to see what happens to their ambitions.

It’s an insightful and well-made season that helps us understand what it takes when a person decides to take risks in life.

The new season is now streaming on Zee5.
