Persuasion (2022) Reactions: Dakota Johnson Delights Fans With Her Offbeat Portrayal

Netflix’s Persuasion might not be the greatest adaptation of all time but, fans are loving Dakota Johnson’s Fleabag-like take on Jane Austen’s finest heroines. Adapted from Austen’s novel of the same name, the latest Netflix release is directed by Carrie Cracknell from a screenplay by Ron Bass and Alice Victoria Winslow.

Produced by MRC and with a runtime of 110 minutes, the movie stars Dakota Johnson as our protagonist Anne Elliot, along with Cosmo Jarvis as Captain Frederick Wentworth, Henry Golding as Mr. William Elliot, Richard E. Grant as Sir Walter Elliot, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Lady Russell, Izuka Hoyle as Henrietta Musgrove, Mia McKenna-Bruce as Mary Elliot, Nia Towle as Louisa Musgrove and others. Ever since the film’s release, Twitter has been buzzing with praises for Johnson.

One of the viewers wrote, “Dakota Johnson’s Persuasion was so beautiful. She definitely is becoming a force to be reckoned with!”. Another Twitter user tweeted: “Dakota is a joy and I instantly love anything I see her in. In completely unrelated news, I quite like the new Persuasion adaptation.” Let us take a look at some more reactions to the film.
