Percy Jackson and the Olympians Trailer: Walker Scobell, Our New Age Demigod Wrestles With Wild Prophecies, Minotaurs and Whatnot

It’s about time that our modern demigods take over Olympus, some to save it, and others to brew chaos, like always! The Percy Jackson and the Olympians trailer dropped on November 16, 2023, and Disney+ is diving headfirst to promote this series like the fast-spreading wildfire it is. With Walker Scobell taking the lead as the blue colour-loving, daunting eponymous hero of the new age, it’s safe to believe that the live-action series based on the beloved Rick Riordan book series is already a hit among nostalgic fans waiting for this moment since time immemorial.

With James Bobin as the director for the first two episodes, and Anders Engström and Jet Wilkinson working on multiple episodes of the season, the Rick Riordan and Jonathan E Steinberg action fantasy creation for the small screen is slated for a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on December 20, 2023. The series, also starring Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, Jason Mantzoukas as Mr D, Lance Reddick as Zeus, Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson and others, is all set to bring alive the events of Riordan’s first novel, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

As seen in the much-awaited full trailer of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series, we finally get a better look at the long pantheon of characters playing pivotal roles in the story. In addition to a magnificent revelation of the larger-than-life Camp Half-Blood, this time, we also spot Scobell’s Percy alongside Charlie Bushnell’s Luke Castellan, one of the most prominent antagonists of the book series.

Though named after the legendary Greek hero and slayer of monsters, Perseus, young Percy embarks on his journey to finding a happy ending for himself. But before he can reach the destination in mind, he’s introduced to some well-kept life-changing secrets, like him being the son of Greek God Poseidon, for starters. On top of juggling with regular pre-teen-sized bullies at school, he’s also burdened with all childhood stories about Gods and monsters now having become his reality. Before he can catch is breath and come to terms with his newfound reality, he finds a new place for himself at Camp Half-Blood, because demigods, much like himself, are not safe in the world.
