Panchayat Season 4 Review: The third season ended with a bang and a lot of chaos as Abhishek’s future looked bleak. With emotions running over, the fourth season showcases him struggling to come to terms with everything that he has done and its consequences on his future, while the residents of Phulera brace themselves for another panchayat election.

Panchayat Season 4 Review
Back with another delightful season of laughs and village politics, Panchayat season 4 highlights Abhishek’s turmoil after his rather rash decision in the previous season, while highlighting the desperation of the Dubeys and the Sharmas as they battle it out for the upcoming village elections.
The season is an amusing entry that continues the tale of Phulera as things get heated for the upcoming elections. From a raging, hilarious battle for who will clean a dirty toilet to trying to get rid of some money over a bogus black money raid, the series showcases the everyday lives of the villagers and their simple but impactful thoughts and actions.

The best part of Panchayat has always been its relatable and warm storyline that highlights the beauty of simplicity. Even in the messiness of politics, there’s an innocence and silliness among all of these characters that makes them stand out and leaves a smile on your face. When we see Phulera and focus on its people, you can differentiate them from everyone who lives out of town.
The series weaves humour with introspective moments that make you have a little more faith in humanity. However, I must say that season 4 really hammers down on the politics, and there are a lot of moments that feel boring. I might sound really harsh, but I feel like, apart from some sweet moments and some key questions being answered, the core storyline doesn’t feel that engaging as a whole.

When Panchayat Season 4 shines, it shines quite brightly, the clash gets messier, and it balances that disgusting messiness with the more innocent, poignant moments well. But somewhere, you can see through the facade of the series trying to balance the other elements and delivering on a story that is engaging, sharp and impactful. I also felt like the antagonists in this season are a bit too over the top. The series loses its charm during those moments and feels very forced and hammered.
The last episode is quite tense and, after the silliness of the season, feels impactful. The performances, as always, are top-notch; however, Raghubir Yadav bats it out of the park this season. Durgesh Kumar and Sunita Rajwar also shine bright this season, with the usual great performances from Neena Gupta and Jitendra Kumar.
Final Thoughts

Panchayat Season 4 feels a bit lost for some reason. While the political push and pull is fun sometimes, and there are some sweet moments, the season doesn’t create that impact that one would expect from this series. All in all, a mediocre fourth season.
