Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 3 Review: The 3rd episode of this series was very engaging and was full of information. Let us find out how this episode played out.
Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
In this episode, we delve deeply into the intricacies of manga adaptations. The episode opens with Abiko Sensei, the original creator of Tokyo Blade, expressing her disdain for the script, demanding a complete overhaul. Her reaction is intense as she harshly criticizes the scriptwriter with blunt remarks.

Before attending the rehearsal, Abiko converses with her former mentor, Yoriko Sensei, discussing her expectations for the adaptation. This scene highlights Abiko’s eccentricities, such as brushing her teeth with two brushes and hiding behind people while speaking, revealing her shy and introverted nature. However, when it comes to her work, she transforms, openly voicing her dissatisfaction and accusing the scriptwriter of incompetence in front of the entire cast.
Yoriko Sensei helps the audience understand that such conflicts between scriptwriters and original creators are common. Typically, sub-editors and assistants filter the creators’ criticisms before they reach the scriptwriters, meaning the issues with the script are not entirely Goa’s fault. Additionally, the narrative structure of a manga differs significantly from that of a stage play.
Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 3 Review

Today’s episode starts with Ruby finally enjoying the fact that she is a celebrity in her school. However, after talking to her friends she realises that she is far from the fame that they are living daily. She does ask her company CEO to put in more work for her but there is also another dilemma. Their group Komachi B literally cannot function without the lead singer, Kana.
But she also returns because of the delays due to the conflict between the scriptwriter and the manga writer of her live-action project. From her, we also get to know that Aqua has gone on a date with Akari, who wishes to make him fall in love with theatre. They see a live-action adaptation of a sports-oriented story, and surprisingly, Aqua loves it. He is intrigued by how the director and scriptwriter managed to use the entire set-up and projections to breathe life into the story. Plus, he was also intrigued by the 360° rotating audience seating, which helped in the immersive nature of the whole experience.

This also made Aqua understand how it is very difficult for someone who writes a manga to understand how theatre works. He realises that Abiko will never be able to write as well as Goa, who is a seasoned scriptwriter and knows how to immerse a theatre-centric audience. Aqua decides that he will have to do something about this, and thus, he effectively approaches someone who is closest to Abiko.
We also learn more about how the manga industry works. Most of the writers who end up becoming a big shot hate getting criticism and automatically garner yes men around them who would not point out their flaws. Similarly, as Abiko became very famous with her debut manga, she started to hate other’s opinions and quickly shot them down. Plus, the editors do not give her proper advice as their most important job is to keep on dragging a popular series so that they can cash on the franchise.

Verdict
Finally, we get some sort of idea of what will happen in the next episode and whether Abiko will be able to provide a fitting script or not.
Today’s episode was again very intriguing and gave us a very close look at how the manga writers function. Their job is not at all easy as they suffer from lack of sleep and very bad schedules.
