Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 12 Recap
The day of the trip has arrived, and the atmosphere is lively and full of excitement, as this is where Ruby and the others will film their music video. However, fate has a twist in store. The location they choose happens to be a town where both Ruby and Aqua experienced their deaths in their past lives. While the trip begins, not everyone is thrilled about the situation. Akane has also joined, thanks to Aqua’s invitation, a decision that doesn’t sit well with Kana.
Despite the tension, the group sets off, marking the start of a new chapter. One of the fascinating aspects of this anime is how it subtly reveals the intricacies of the entertainment industry. But the story goes deeper. Ruby and Aqua are drawn into memories of their former lives as they explore the town they once called home.

Reflecting on both the good and painful moments of their pasts, Aqua revisits familiar places from his previous life. Through this, we learn more about Aqua’s past, including his lack of parental support, a struggle Ruby—formerly Sarina—also faced. Her parents never visited her during her battle with terminal illness, leaving only Dr. Amamiya (Aqua) by her side.
However, everything gets shattered when Ruby and Akane find the dead body of Dr Amamiya.
Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 13 Review

The final episode is here, and we are left with more questions than answers. Ruby is shocked to find the dead and decomposed body of Dr Amamiya, and she does not know what to feel anymore. She is shocked and also devastated now that all her loved ones from her previous life are dead. Aqua, on the other hand, almost seems relieved that finally someone found his lost body.
He profusely apologises to Akane for getting her involved in such a thing, but Akane, being the supportive girlfriend she is, scolds him for always taking the blame for no reason. Aqua also, to some extent, feels like he can move on from all the negativity and think about his own happiness. This inspires him to make a decision that might make some pleased and some displeased. The ship war has finally ended, and Aqua has chosen a girl.

The transformation of Ruby is far more serious than what we perceived. She really does go through some extreme emotional turmoil, and this gets heightened when she meets the mysterious girl with white hair. Whether she is a ghostly entity or an apparition, it is hard to tell. But one thing is for certain, the child knows too many secrets. She reveals to Ruby how the doctor died when Ai went into labour and the presence of two very suspicious individuals on that day.
This coupled with the despair of loss, transforms Ruby from a sweet and optimistic person to someone not very different from Aqua’s past self. Apart from that, we also see the main antagonist, the father of the Hoshino siblings, doing some heinous things that will be the basis of the next season.

Verdict
I loved this episode and was impressed with how the season turned out. The plot was great, and the characters went through a lot of developments that pushed their growth into interesting directions. I will be eagerly waiting for the next season.
