Excited About Onimusha? Know All About the Upcoming Samurai Animated Series

Onimusha is an upcoming action-adventure animated series packed with violence and sword fights that will premiere on Netflix. It is based on the popular video game franchise of the same name by Capcom, which eventually became the ninth best-selling franchise for the company, only behind renowned titles like Resident EvilMonster Hunter, etc. The first ever game of the series Onimusha: Warlords was released in 2001, and its HD remastered version came in December 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, followed by a Windows version in 2019.

The creator, Yoshiki Okamoto, first had this idea when he decided to create a ninja version of the 1996 Resident Evil game. He wanted the new game setting to be in the Sengoku period and showcase a ninja house with booby traps and hurdles similar to its inspiration. The difference will be that here, the player will fight battles using swords and shurikens.
