As announced a few days ago, BTS’ J-Hope, aka Jung Ho-seok, is the second member of the South Korean music septet to join Jin for his mandatory military service stint, but before that, he dropped his solo single On the Street as a going away gifts for the fans. Crossing paths with the American rapper, J. Cole, the dance leader of the global sensation K-pop boy group encapsulated his his passionate journey as an artist, right from his early B-boying days.

This digital single premiered on various music platforms on March 3, 2023, after the release of his debut solo album Jack in the Box that was released in July 2022, and followed up by his documentary special titled J-Hope in the Box. Although its just been a few days since the track came out, the singer has come together with several artists from the K-pop industry to participate in the dance challenge streak for the song, a rather novel approach adopted by K-artists to promote their projects.
These dance challenges have also helped bridge the gap between numerous artists and K-pop groups, and conveyed the message that all of them are on the same plane and collectively work together to promote the Hallyu Wave across the world. It breaks the pre-established mould that sought to illustrate them as adversaries competing against each other in this musical rat-race. Quite a few audiences choose to follow a single K-pop group and their endeavours, however, there are even more out there who admire multiple groups or artist.
The previously mentioned people falling under the ‘Multi-fandom’ category are rejoicing at these challenges more than anyone else. And today is a special day for the fans of BTS and SEVENTEEN, respectively known as ARMY and CARAT, while their collective name coined by the fans stands to be ‘ArmyCarat’. In the reel or TikTok video posted on the official BANGTAN social media pages, we see J-Hope joining forces with SEVENTEEN’s Vernon and Dino for the latest rendition of the dance challenge. And as the fans are suggesting, the rapper is indeed “collecting HYBE artists like infinity stones or pokemons”.

During the initial seconds of the reel, the three can be seen hiding their identities behind various fashion magazines, wherein one of them again nods to yet another HYBE Easter egg since one of the three magazine covers sports TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s Yeonjun’s face. All three K-pop boy bands function under the umbrella banner of HYBE Labels (SEVENTEEN is managed by PLEDIS Entertainment, which is now a subsidiary of HYBE).

The reel proceeds with the three singers putting down the magazines and revealing their overjoyed smiling countenances before seamlessly breaking into the dance choreography for J-Hope’s single. The chic and dashing video clip ends with them showcasing their dancing finesse.
Prior to this, J-Hope was also joined by members of groups like TXT, ENHYPEN, NewJeans, &TEAM, and even fellow BTS members like SUGA, V (Kim Taehyung), Jimin in addition to some other solo artists.
