On the Street 2nd Win: BTS’ J-Hope Sweeps Mnet M Countdown Yet Again, Here’s Who He was Up Against

BTS’ J-Hope has done it again! On the Street 2nd win is a reality that is within reach for the singer-songwriter and dancer, as he’s swept Mnet M Countdown for the second time during his digital single’s promotions. On March 9, 2023, he took away the first trophy for his track at the same South Korean music program broadcast, now hosted by (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon and MONSTA X’s Joohoney. On March 16, 2023, he again won the title of music artist of the week, making it his consecutive win on the same platform.

J-Hope On the Street 2nd Win

On the Street is his special collaboration music release, for which he paired up with his muse, the American rapper and record producer J. Cole. This song was released along with its music video earlier this month on March 3, 2023, and it seeks to tap into the dancer’s roots as a street dancer. The week’s winner is widely determined by the pre-voting mechanism for which the fans submit their votes on the Mwave website. And as the day stands proof, the BTS ARMYs have proved their loyal trust in the singer by making way for this win.

J-Hope lifted the trophy against TWICE’s latest comeback title track, Set Me Free, which premiered on March 10, 2023, along with the girl group’s (managed by JYP Entertainment) 12th mini album titled Ready To Be. This win is the artist’s overall second triumph as a soloist. Before this, he put out his debut solo album Jack in the Box, in July 2022. For his first win, the group’s dance leader was pitted against the high rankings of STAYC’s Teddy Bear

This single will also possibly fill in for his last music premiere before Jung Hoseok heads out to complete his mandatory military service, becoming the second member of the K-pop septet to do so, after following the footsteps of the eldest member of the band, Jin.
