No Tail To Tell Episode 1 Recap

This episode begins, and it talks about a nine-tailed fox, Eun-ho, who wishes to become a human. She goes on to meet another former nine-tailed fox who managed to turn into a human and is on the verge of marrying the love of her life. However, Eun-ho soon understands the ill omen behind this wedding and realises how her friend will never be happy because she chose to be with a human. After that, Eun-ho’s wish to be a mortal faded because she didn’t want to live a life so fragile and prone to misfortune.

Next, we see our hero, Si-yeol, who is a football player but gets punished by his coach for playing well because of his financial situation. The fact that he has never paid fees or that he gives attitude to his coach is something that his coach could not accept. Then we get to see how even within the team, the people who can afford to bribe the coach get better treatment than Si-yeol. After that, we see a character called Mr Lee, who plays a negative character because of what he does.

Weirdly enough, the meeting where he was going, Eun-ho also comes in her nine-tailed fox avatar while keeping everyone under her manipulation. She quickly brainwashes them into doing her bidding, reinforcing the fact that she loves money. Following this, we get to know a bit more about Si-yeol, who has no parents and only an ailing grandmother. Even then, he does his best to work part-time and perform well in soccer.

We also see that Lee is actually the one who hired Eun-ho to make his company win the bid. Then we see how she provides services in exchange for money, yet refuses to do good deeds because she cannot accidentally get more virtue that will make her turn into a human. But she also refuses to kill a human because that will diminish her spiritual power. Much later, we finally see a meeting between Eun-ho and Si-yeol, who come across each other thanks to a chance encounter.

She also sees a future prediction of him becoming a famous footballer, but it can also be his friend. When she later meets Si-yeol, she tells him how she suspects the future that she saw for him might not belong to him, but to his friend, making his confidence hit rock bottom in the process. But just then, a very tragic situation happens, and this indirectly leads to Eun-ho facing grave consequences.

As there are far too many Korean dramas centred around gumiho, this one still manages to make a fairly solid first impression. So far, it feels refreshing to see a gumiho who is not fixated on becoming human, and the dynamic with Eun-ho’s character is handled much better than expected.

Yet, since the series leans heavily into comedy, the narrative doesn’t yet carry much emotional weight. While the setup is interesting, the storytelling lacks depth at the moment, and that is to be expected because it is the first episode. I’m curious to see whether the plot develops more substance as the story moves forward.

  1. Hey yooo this is kinda fun,

And the thing then they said that she losing her power i tought, awww man this is going to be boring like some other shows, like netflix making it cheap as usually,

But good call on this one, she’s losing only half so it is a bit fun left,

Stay like this and its good, not to romantic stuff, maybe those two main persons could cheer the power like 50/50 later,

There is another korean show where a girl take away the power to a demon, in an accident, so he needs to stick with her closely all the time, or he dies…

That said, she is kinda bitchy to be a god, nine tail fox….you better hope NARUTO company don’t sue your ass, you know the anime thingy…

And that old god gezzer who took away her power (very sure he did it) creepy, don’t get what he’s saying/talking, and EEEEW could he look a bit better, he looks like a washed up sewer rat,

For now its okies, if not I’ll be back burning all your asses with a torch….????????????☠️

  2. Alrighty then, episode 3, that nine fox girl is just messing with his life and others, back and forth,

A few backflashes of her old life, she’s blaming him for stuff, and take it out on him, and ALOT OF TALKING…in short: ALOT OF BULLSHIT,

Everything for her is perfect, nothing goes wrong for her, AND STILL VERY BITCHY ATTITUDE,

She Should lose a bit more magic stuff, so its fair to all others…

Like she’s smiling a evil smile, laughting and confusing the boy, and confusing me the wiver, I’m not loving it…

And some new guy steps right in suddenly, and new stuff shows up without little explanation,

Getting sick of this, her they gods messing with humans for fun for them but not fun for me, its souless and to little fun stuff…this cannot continue….
