No Gain No Love Episode 10 Review: Hae-yeong and Ji-uk’s Emotional Confessions and Hidden Truths Come to Light

In Episode 9 of No Gain No Love, there’s a lot of family drama and growing romance. Gyu-hyun finds out that Ji-uk is actually his father’s illegitimate son. This shocks him, and he fires Ji-uk from his job and demotes Hae-yeong just because she’s Ji-uk’s wife. Gyu-hyun’s mother also tells him to make sure Ji-uk leaves Korea forever and suggests using Hae-yeong to make it happen.

Amid all this, Hae-yeong, who usually cares about money more than anything, doesn’t get angry at Ji-uk, even though she was demoted because of him. Instead, we start to see a romance growing between them, showing a new side to their relationship.

The episode starts off with a flashback explaining how Gyu-hyun ends up in front of Hae-yeong’s house. He was drinking at a bar, heartbroken over his inability to be with Ja-yeon. His security guard, Ha-jun, shows up and suggests that he goes to Ja-yeon’s house to confess his feelings. Gyu-hyun agrees, but when he arrives, Ja-yeon mistakes him for her violent father and grabs an umbrella to defend herself.

However, when she realises it’s Gyu-hyun and he suddenly hugs her, she screams. This, of course, prompts Hae-yeong and Ji-uk to come running to her rescue, only to find the CEO there. What follows is a hilarious sequence where Gyu-hyun confesses his love for Ja-yeon, but Hae-yeong misinterprets the situation and tries to hit him with the umbrella, accidentally striking Ji-uk instead!

Things get even more chaotic when Ja-yeon confesses her own feelings for Gyu-hyun, leaving Hae-yeong furious. The sibling banter is amusing, but when Hae-yeong demands Ja-yeon choose between her and Gyu-hyun, Ja-yeon doesn’t even hesitate—she picks her sister. She admits that she likes Gyu-hyun, but she respects the boundaries between them and won’t pursue a relationship, much to Hae-yeong’s relief.

The plot thickens when we find out why Hae-yeong is so protective of Ja-yeon. Hae-yeong’s father was murdered by Ja-yeon’s father, a fact that makes Ja-yeon feel indebted to Hae-yeong, willing to sacrifice even her love life for her. This adds layers to their dynamic, making it clear why Ja-yeon always prioritises Hae-yeong.

Later, Gyu-hyun spends the night at Hae-yeong’s house, sharing a room with Ji-uk. Their scene together is surprisingly charming, as the two brothers show off how much they are alike—even down to their synchronized sleeping! But the next morning, things get awkward when Gyu-hyun reveals Ja-yeon’s secret plan to move out and Ji-uk’s upcoming departure from Korea, a revelation that leaves Hae-yeong fuming and kicking everyone out.

Amid the chaos, Ji-uk tries to make amends by bringing Hae-yeong flowers, but she remains emotionally distant. She finally opens up, explaining that her experience in foster care has left her emotionally scarred, having seen people come and go, leaving her feeling abandoned. It’s a touching moment, and Ji-uk realizes just how much he means to her. After a dramatic power outage, the two finally confess their love for each other and share a steamy kiss.

Meanwhile, Gyu-hyun and Ja-yeon share some tender moments at his company, even re-enacting a scene from her novel. Their romance seems to be going well, until they overhear a fight between An U-jae and Kwon I-rin that brings up old wounds. The argument reminds Ja-yeon of her loyalty to Hae-yeong, and she decides that this will be her last date with Gyu-hyun, leaving both of them heartbroken.

The episode ends on a heavy note as Hae-yeong finds an old photo of her mother with a young Ji-uk, revealing that Ji-uk was one of her mother’s foster children. Feeling betrayed, Hae-yeong demands that Ji-uk leave, leaving the audience on the edge of their seats.
