Having opened on march 31, 2023, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai saw various stars from Hollywood and Bollywood alike, like the American model Gigi Hadid and more, attending the launch. From the first-of-its-kind exhibit ‘India in Fashion’ curated by Hamish Bowles commemorating the opening, to The Great Indian Musical, the musical extravaganza by Feroz Abbas Khan, celebrities from the Entertainment domain got to witness Indian arts at their best.
All this could be possible due to Nita M Ambani, the Chairperson and Founder of this initiative, thus leaving artists from the West mesmerised by the gems held within the nation’s heart. Gigi Hadid was one guest who couldn’t have enough of the masterpieces she encountered during her first visit to Mumbai, India.

The endless interactions at the NMACC gala have now turned into magical moments for the books. Hadid captured the essence of her unforgettable experience via her Instagram posts, one of which even saw her sharing a moment with the Bollywood Baadshah, Shah Rukh Khan himself. She also posed alongside fellow Hollywood stars like Zendaya, Penelope Cruz, Tom Holland, retired American stylist Lawrence “Law” Roach and Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with her daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.
Tuning into desi fever for the night, Hadid donned a Chikankari saree designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. She took to her Instagram profile to expound on the intricate details of her Indian attire made in Lucknow. The artistry took a year to complete, and she applauded the efforts of all those women who stitched the piece together for the night.
It became a night to remember, especially for the American model, who even conveyed her warmest thanks to the Ambani family for hosting her in Mumbai. The opening nights of the Cultural Centre launch have left her with loads of lessons and memories to live by, just like they’ve ensued a discussion on the designs, music and arts cultivated within India for the domestic population. On yet another Instagram post dedicated to her experience in Mumbai, Gigi left a note for the world’s people, encouraging everyone to visit NMACC and see these productions first-hand.
