Amazon’s description of Nine Perfect Strangers reads:

“Nine Perfect Strangers” follows nine very different people who arrive at Tranquillum House, a mysterious wellness retreat that promises “total transformation”. Once there, the guests fall under the spell of the enigmatic Masha, who will stop at nothing to heal them. As the days unfold, however, Masha’s unorthodox methods threaten to push this combustible group over the edge.

Nine Perfect Strangers episode 4 recap

Nine Perfect Strangers episode 4 starts with a flashback of Masha being followed by someone in a car park. That then brings us back to the present, where the guests figure out that they are being drugged. They, obviously, freak out. However, Masha takes it quite casually and tells everyone that it’s protocol and that it will help them become better and cure them. She further adds that Jessica and Ben were the only ones not being drugged.

The last part really gets Jessica confused. She wonders why they were not drugged. However, Ben doesn’t really care about it. On the other hand, Napolean and Heather have a different outcome and it seems to bring them closer. On the other hand, we also see Masha and Yao having sex although he’s with Delilah as well. This is clearly the reason why the latter was so upset in the last episode.

The next day in Nine Perfect Strangers episode 4, Heather and Napolean are better and coming out of their shells. Both come out of the problems and everything that hold them back. Meanwhile, we see the group being more open to the drugs being fed to them and Napolean even gives a little speech. Later, as everyone goes off for the day’s tasks, Frances and Tony get to catch up with each other. Frances even tells him that Tony has become a better person in these few days.

Today is Carmel’s one on one with Masha. Carmel has been an interesting character here. There are clearly issues underneath there and the anxiety is obvious. We get to know that her husband left her for a younger woman, a woman even her children adore. There’s been some cheating and abuse and Carmel clearly is still living in the past. Masha asks her to write down all the bad things that he had said to her.

Meanwhile, Lars and Zoe bond while sweating it out. She tells him that she knew that he had more motives for being there, while he tells her that although she might say no, she was still close to her brother. At the next task, Frances is picked to beat a Kendo doll thing. For those of you who are used to watching Melissa McCarthy as the comedic relief, you’re in for a treat. Frances opens up about what exactly happened with Paul. Everyone is impressed by her vulnerability.

Next up is Carmel who, off the bat, says that she cannot top. Unfortunately, though, Masha reads back what she had written during their one on one session. Carmel totally goes all out and smashes the dummy to pieces. Obviously, everyone is a bit scared and Napolean even tries to convince Heather to leave.

Meanwhile in Nine Perfect Strangers episode 4, as Jessica has a moment to talk about relationships with Yao, Tony remembers a night at the bar. It was obviously a traumatic experience for him and when Frances catches up with a scared Tony, he opens up about it to her. He’s carrying a huge baggage with him – a baggage of killing someone and the guilt seems to rack up with him.

That night in Nine Perfect Strangers episode 4, Masha and Yao discuss pushing them to level 2, which means increasing the dosage of the drugs. Delilah comes over, upset that she has not been involved in important decisions. Masha turns it into a discussion about her not taking her smoothies. We also get to know that Delilah is bipolar.

As the guests all drink another round of smoothies, Delilah seems annoyed and angry. While going back home after the party in Nine Perfect Strangers episode 4, Masha finds a threatening message that makes her concerned.

Nine Perfect Strangers episode 4 keeps on being a creepy series that only gets creepier. There are a lot of secrets to uncover here, and enough sketchy people to keep you occupied!
