From Nevertheless To Love All Play, 4 Chae Jong-hyeop Kdramas You Should Not Miss!

Our ‘Potato Boy’ is celebrating his 29th Birthday today 19th May 2022! Chae Jong-hyeop Kdramas are a lot to name. He has not failed to make us swoon over his bright smile and charming personality in all the roles he has played so far. Jong-hyeop made his acting debut in 2016 with MBC’s Webtoon Hero – Tundra Show Season 2 in which he played the role of King Sejong.

Since then, he has appeared in Come An Hug Me, Rumor, Hot Stove League and Sisyphus: The Myth. He got his first, second male lead role in Nevertheless as Yang Do-hyeok which gained him international popularity and also landed him his first main lead role in Love All Play with Park Ju-hyun. He has also made a cameo in 2022’s Shooting Stars. We hope to see him in more lead roles but for now, here are the best of his Kdramas so far!

Nevertheless

Nevertheless(알고있지만) is a 2021 Korean drama featuring Song Kang, Han So-hee and Chae Jong-hyeop. This romantic Kdrama is based on a Naver webtoon of the same name. Song Kang and Han So-hee play the lead characters, Park Jae-eon and Yoo Na-bi respectively. Both of them are engaged in an unserious romantic relationship. Chae Jong-yeop plays Yang Do-hyeok, Na-bi’s childhood friend whose first love was her. This drama gave Jong-hyeop the nickname, ‘Potato Boy’ and made him popular.

Love All Play

Love All Play or alternatively known as The Speed Going To You Is 493 KM (너에게 가는 속도 493 KM) is a 2022 sports and romance Kdrama. This is a story of professional badminton players who struggle to manage their professional and personal lives while playing an unpopular sport in their country. Chae Jong-hyeop plays the role of Park Tae-jun who is a skilled badminton player but underestimates himself. He falls in love with Park Tae-yang, played by Park Ju-hyun, his sister’s enemy. The drama also features Kim Moo-jun, Seo Ji-hye and Park Ji-hyun.

The Witch’s Diner

The Witch’s Diner or alternatively known as Come To The Witch’s Restaurant (마녀식당으로 오세요) is a 2021 Korean Dark Fantasy Drama. Originally running for 8 episodes on TVING, the drama was later broadcasted on TVN’s television channel and is also made available on Viki for global viewers. In the drama, Chae Jong-hyeop shares the screen with top actresses, Song Ji-hyo and Nam Ji-hyun. Chae Jong-hyeop is a high school student, Lee Gil-young works as a part-timer at Jo Hee-ra, the witch’s restaurant where Nam Ji-hyun is also an employee working for Song Ji-hyo.

Sisyphus: The Myth

Sisyphus: The Myth(시지프스) is a 2021 Korean Sci-fi thriller drama starring Park Shin-hye and Cho Seung-woo in the main roles. Choi Seung-woo plays Han Tae-sul, an engineer who has a company named Quantum and Time. Park Shin-hye is a woman from the future named Gang Seo-hae who travels back in time to stop a destructive war from starting. She stops Tae-sul from inventing the lethal machine. Chae Jong-hyeop plays the role of Shin-hye’s friend who helps her and Seung-woo.
