Netflix’s The Fabulous, KBS’ The Love In Your Eyes and More Shows Postponed Following Itaewon Tragedy

In the wake of the tragic accident that occurred in Itaewon, Seoul and shook South Korea, many Korean dramas, variety shows and Kpop comebacks have been postponed for a later date. In recent news, the Swoon Netflix took to Instagram to announce that the upcoming Kdrama ‘The Fabulous‘ has been postponed.

They wrote in their post, “As national mourning is taking place due to the tragic accident in Korea, we have decided to postpone the press conference and the release of <The Fabulous>.” The postponed release date has not been notified, however, it can be expected to release after the period of national mourning from October 30 to November 5, 2022, as stated by South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol.

The Fabulous is a hyperrealism romance, that portrays the dream, love and friendship of youths who dedicated themselves to the fashion industry that is written as fashion and read as passion. It stars Choi Min-ho and Chae Soo-bin in the lead roles, along with Kim Min-kyu as Shim Do-young, Byun Jun-seo as Kang Woo, Lee Mi-do and Kwon Hae-sung.

Apart from the Netflix release, the KBS drama The Love In Your Eyes has also been postponed and was notified on their Instagram page that “the show which was scheduled to broadcast today, will be cancelled due to the 30-minute broadcast of the special edition KBS News 7.”

The variety show Running Man also postponed its special episode on 30th October, featuring BTS’ Jin and Hybe Labels also delayed the lyric video of his latest solo single ‘The Astronaut’. Joining BTS’ Jin, IRRIS, Younite, Xdinary Heroes and EXO’s Chen, K-pop artists DRIPPIN, Apink’s Jung Eun Ji and Junhyung also postponed their album releases.

Also an upcoming MBC drama The Season of Kkokdu has been put on hold after it was reported that actor Lee Ji Han had passed away during the unfortunate tragedy. It is a fantasy romantic medical drama about a high-ranking grim reaper named Kkok Du and a doctor with a special ability. The actor was playing the role of the female doctor’s ex-boyfriend, while some scenes are still left to be shot.
