Terim Trailer: The Glorious Football Manager Relives his Journey to the Top

Known to most as the “imparator” (Turkish) or “imperatore” (Italian), both meaning “emperor”, Fatih Terim is one of the best football managers in the world. And to honor his glory, Netflix is releasing a sports documentary in his name where he and his family sit down to recount the player’s golden years in the game.

Since Terim himself is involved in this project, one can expect an unfiltered account of his life story. The film comes out this September on Netflix. It’s going to be a fascinating treat for football fans.

The official Netflix synopsis reads: “Legendary manager Fatih Terim recounts his football journey, from his playing days to coaching and leading several teams to championship glory.”

Being raised to the status of an “emperor” in any field is not a feat that can be achieved overnight. Terim’s life story as narrated in the documentary film’s trailer “is not an easy story. It took almost a lifetime and major sacrifices for (him) to reach this point in history”.

Furthermore, the labels that have defined him throughout his life are “soccer player”, “captain”, and “coach”, which map out his professional rising trajectory as well. However, a mighty sportsperson like him also leads a personal life wherein he’s viewed as a person and not merely a symbol. His family regards him with respect as a “father” or a “grandfather” before viewing him as the football giant he’s known to the world.

Losing any game is an upsetting matter for him. People who know him closely claim that he doesn’t even need the motivation to stay ahead, all you have to do is “give him a game and tell him he has to win”.

Terim is the kind of leader “who can show you he’s a leader without uttering a single world”.

The upcoming sports documentary will celebrate Terim’s achievements and life as a player taken over by the game, but also as the person who he came to be in all these years. The trailer takes us back to the black-and-white years of the ’70s when nothing was certain, let alone one’s profession.
