Naruto 20th Anniversary Special Gets Delayed, Here’s What Happened!

The Naruto 20th Anniversary Special, which was set to release on September 3, 2023, has been delayed. The special episodes were declared to celebrate the anniversary of the popular and loved anime series. However, due to a few unavoidable reasons, the show has been cancelled. On August 29, 2023, the production team behind the anime series released a statement and broke the sad news to their fans.

The four new episodes of the anime series were originally planned to be released in four consecutive weeks starting on September 3, 2023. However, in a lengthy statement, the production team made the announcement that the anniversary special episodes will be delayed. The reason for the sudden decision is to improve the quality of the anime. Naruto is known for its impeccable animation and quality; hence, to deliver the fans with good quality content, the difficult decision had to be made.

Nevertheless, there are a lot more the anime fans and the community to look out for. Instead of the special episodes, BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS will air on September 3, 2023. Part one of the anime series came to an end in March 2023. Due to that, a few of the staff members shifted their location to rival studios, which caused some controversy. However, the studio is back up again and ready to continue one of the most beloved anime series. Apart from the upcoming series, new chapters of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, which serves as a sequel, will also be released in the upcoming weeks.

Although the anniversary special is delayed, the fans have a lot to look out for further, and more content will be available soon. The story about the upcoming new episodes has not been revealed yet. However, the plot is set in a time when Naruto Uzumaki and his friends are still training to be ninjas. Moreover, Japanese rock band FLOW will be performing the opening and ending theme songs of the short series.

The 20th-anniversary rendition of FLOW’s song GO!!!, which served as the fourth opening of the original Naruto TV series, was to serve as the show’s opening theme. The third season’s closing theme music for the Naruto anime, Viva Rock by ORANGE RANGE, was intended to be the inspiration for the finale.

Naruto 20th Anniversary Special Release Date and Trailer

As of now, there is no date set for the release of the anniversary special episodes. The show has been postponed indefinitely with no further notice. However, the production team assures that they will be revealing a date soon, and the fans should be expecting an announcement for it in the upcoming weeks.
