My Troublesome Star Episode 3 Recap
The episode opens with Se-ra getting ambushed and Cheol rushing to help her. She falls in horror as someone catches up to her, but later realises it’s Cheol who has come to help her. Although he is unable to find anyone at the scene, he suspects that there’s something amiss and decides to take her home, promising to look into the matter on her behalf. Going through a nearby car’s dashcam, he gets a hold of the license plate number of the perpetrator’s car and wonders about Ju Seung-pil. Behind the card, he finds the number plate of another car and can’t help but wonder who it might be.
Back at the gosiwon, everyone blames Se-ra for a theft in a neighbouring room. They start to harass her, but thankfully, Cheol arrives just in time to stop things from going too far. They go through the CCTV footage and find out that the person who lost the bag is the one who accidentally washed it. Although it was a misunderstanding, it leaves Se-ra heartbroken afterwards. Thankfully, Cheol helps to lift her spirits. Later, he shares what he found about her stalker and asks her to be careful and not go out at night.

Curious about what happened with her family, Se-ra asks Da-hee why Baek-ja hates her so much, but she is as clueless as Se-ra. The next day, she goes to meet her father, but he’s far too unwell to recognise her. Meanwhile, Cheol continues to investigate Se-ra’s stalker and brings Se-ra to the Obong Intersection to jog her memories. However, nothing comes of it. Elsewhere, Da-hee is ecstatic to learn that she passed the final rounds of the audition process.
Later on, Se-ra sees Hui-yeong receiving an award at the Cannes Film Festival and takes it upon herself to find her old team, who are tired of catering to Hui-yeong’s temper. Hui-yeong, meanwhile, is tensed thinking about Se-ra resurfacing. Elsewhere, Cheol has the shock of his life when he finally puts two and two together and realises that Bong Chung-ja is really Se-ra – she wasn’t crazy, she was telling him the truth. He thinks back to his last conversation with Se-ra all those years ago and is unable to believe that he has been so close to the woman of his dreams all this time.

In the end, though, he doesn’t confess to knowing her truth and promises to protect her no matter what.
In the epilogue, we see Hui-yeong losing her mind over Se-ra getting featured in an ad and when she gets some gossip about Se-ra visiting the police station. She tells this story to a reporter, perfectly aware of the gossip to follow. However, Cheol clears things up, painting her to be a model citizen, which is exactly what gets printed the next day, and Hui-yeong’s plan falls through.
My Troublesome Star Episode 3 Review

My Troublesome Star is turning out to be quite the entertaining watch, with the mystery and the family drama taking place simultaneously and keeping us on our toes. I am quite invested in Se-ra’s past and finding out why she left her career. It’s an interesting mystery. Meanwhile, her blossoming relationship with Cheol is also quite fun, while the mystery surrounding her accident is deliciously twisted. It’s only made better by the great performances – Uhm Jung-hwa and Song Seung-heon are great as the two protagonists, while Lee El makes for a good antagonist. Hopefully, she has more to show us than just jealousy.
I can’t wait to understand what awaits Se-ra. Hopefully, this ends up being a good ride.
