My Name Is Gabriel: Variety Show to Go on a Hiatus; Here’s Why!

My Name Is Gabriel (마이 네임 이즈 가브리엘) is the newest and most exciting Korean variety show that is surely perking our interest these days because of many reasons. The show has brought about an exciting line of celebrities participating and a theme that has garnered immense attention from the excitement that it has brought about.

The show brings celebrities to live the life of another person from anywhere in the world for 72 hours. As celebrities take up the name of the said person, they spend their time living and understanding their lives, while forming some interesting connections. The participant not only spends time understanding the person they are living as but also has to go about living the daily life of their Gabriel.

As of yet, the show has released 6 episodes (one episode per week) and has welcomed three participants whose experience during their journey has been an opener as well as interesting. Hosted by Defconn, Kang Min-kyung and Lee Hae-ri, the show has welcomed Park Bo-gum, Park Myung-soo and Yeom Hye-ran as of yet.

The show started with Park Bo-gum who was sent to live the life of Ruaidhri in Dublin, Ireland, where he heads a choir and performs in public on St. Patrick’s Day. Next, we have Park Myung-soo who was sent to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where he lived the life of Votti and sold som tam while also learning how to make it to the best of his ability.

Finally, we have Yeom Hye-ran who was sent to Chongqing, China; living the life of a mother who works as a manager in the world’s largest hotpot restaurant. These three participants brought about their journey in learning the roles they have been put in while having to live it for 72 hours with no break.

The experience won the hearts of viewers as many laughs escaped along with tears whenever their life as their Gabriel ended. Throughout these 6 episodes, the entertainment never went down and only made us eager for what was to happen next with each passing episode.

Towards the end of My Name is Gabriel episode 6, an announcement was made to let viewers know that the show will not be broadcasting for the next two weeks and will be going on a hiatus. This is due to the Olympic games that will keep be broadcasted all over the nation, leaving some shows making the same decision.

With this, My Name is Gabriel episode 7 is set to release on August 16, 2024, with more new members bringing about their experience for us all. The preview clip also showed glimpses of Ji Chang-wook’s tough time harvesting, DEX finding himself in the countryside, Gabee going for a unique racing experience, and Hong Jin-kyung walking the ramp.

Altogether, more excitement awaits us after this hiatus period and we are eagerly looking forward to the return of the show!

My Name is Gabriel Episode 7 Release Date and Preview

My Name is Gabriel episode 7 is set to release on August 16, 2024, on Disney Plus at 7:20 PM IST.

The next episode is set to bring two new participants whose time as Gabriel is soon to leave us excited and laughing. Among the participants left as Ji Chang-wook, DEX, Gabee and Hong Jin-kyung. While we are not sure who is to appear in the next episode, we are sure that every one of them has an exciting journey to share with us all. So let’s wait and see what these new Gabriels are to bring to the show once it is back!
