My Name is Gabriel Episode 7 Recap
Following the hiatus, the show returns with two new Gabriels- Ji Chang-wook and Hong Jin-kyung, ready to set on an all-new adventure. The first to take the flight is Jin-kyung who is sent to Kigali, Rwanda, where she starts nervous due to the language barrier. Soon, she reaches her destination but being unable to get into character, she is surprised by almost everything around her, including the interpreter.
Her destination is a restaurant, that belongs to her new identity- Kellia’s mother and the woman who served her food is her mother. However, Jin-kyung continues to have a hard time settling in and in a flustered state, thinks that the interpreter is her mother. This gives everyone a good laugh while Jin-kyung continues to struggle with the interpreter, her new mother, and her identity.

Sometime later, she finally settles down and finds out that Kellia is a 20-year-old girl with a 37-year-old mother, which is odd for the 48-year-old Jin-kyung. The laughter continues with Jin-kyung’s silliness, but she soon settles when she finds out that Kellia has no father. However, this doesn’t last long as she begins to enact the character of a 20-year-old and has a fun squabble with her mother.
Finally, she decides to take her new mother for some chicken and wine in the evening after which her friend- Helvin, arrives to take her somewhere. The destination is a modelling academy where Kellia is an aspiring model, reminding Jin-kyung of her modelling days. While a little flustered, Jin-kyung performs like a professional as she soon settles into her character.
When taking a break from all the practice, Jin-kyung points to another guy- Ivan, who caught her eye when practising his walks. Making fun of Helvin along the way, Jin-kyung doesn’t shy away from the others and hits off very well with them. Soon, the instructor announces that there will be a casting the next day, adding to Jin-kyung’s pressure. Later, she makes plans to go clubbing the next day with the others and returns.

She then heads off for some dinner with her mother and the two continue to hit off with each other as their chemistry leaves everyone laughing out loud. Kellia’s mother then tells her that she is the eldest daughter and has two younger brothers- which surprises Jin-kyung. Sometime later, Jin-kyung tells her mother about her clubbing plans for the next day and she agrees only if she takes her brother with her.
Jin-kyung is shocked but has no choice but to agree. Later, they head home where Jin-kyung meets her brothers and wonders if she will be able to go clubbing in peace. With this Jin-kyung’s adventures come to a pause while we are taken to Chang-wook’s adventure which he barely survived.
Wanting to have a challenging time, Ji Chang-wook is sent to Guadalajara, Mexico, but this trip starts with a bump when a cancelled flight forces him to spend the first 35 hours away from his destination. Left with no choice, he starts his Gabriel’s life late to which he comments that it was his good luck that he escaped for half of the trip.

When he finally arrives at his destination, he is ushered into a vehicle which startles him and is soon taken to a town called Tequila. However, his first stop is not a building or the town but in the agave field. Standing under the glaring sun, Chang-wook soon spots a group of men heading his way and calling out for some named Pipe.
This is his new identity and upon recognising him, they introduce themselves and inform him that they need to harvest 7 tons of agave now. Chang-wook is in shock but goes along as he puts on his gear and learns his work, before giving it a try. However, harvesting agave is not an easy task and while his novice-like work doesn’t impress the men, they continue to cheer him on as he works without stopping.
A quick coke and mango break later, Chang-wook begins gathering the agave with the others followed by loading it into a truck. This is not an easy task and after a period of working hard, it is finally time to head home. Chang-wook talks about agave the whole way and soon reaches the village where he is to stay.
Soon after, he reaches his house and the episode ends with the door opening up for him.
