My Lovely Liar Episode 9 Stills: Hwang Min-hyun and Kim So-hyun’s Hearts Come Closer Despite Rooting for Different Football Clubs

tvN knows just how to play with its viewers’ hearts by revealing new My Lovely Liar Episode 9 stills right before the broadcast of the K-drama’s latest episode. Starring Hwang Min-hyun and Kim So-hyun in lead roles, the South Korean romantic thriller drama series (소용없어 거짓말) has been written by Seo Jeong-eu and directed by Nam Sung-woo.

Last week’s episode was truly a rollercoaster ride for the loyal fans of the show who’ve been ardently keeping up with its weekly broadcasts on Monday and Tuesday. As the series’ storyline heads into its latter-half chapters, Min-hyun’s Do-ha and So-hyun’s Sol-hee have been getting closer to each other, now also having confessed their feelings for each other. And simultaneously, the mystery element of the series is also further shedding its layers to reveal what truly happened between Do-ha and his ex-girlfriend Eom-ji.

Episode 8 centred around Sol-hee being overcome with tensions and trust issues again as she discovered Do-ha’s biggest lie yet, which also happened to be the worst lie she’s sensed in anyone so far. On being asked if he was involved in Eom-ji’s murder, Do-ha comes clean to Sol-hee and says no, but his words still cause the dreadful bell ring to go off in Sol-hee’s mind, indicating that his confession is far from being true.

Many theories have stated that this is merely a result of Do-ha’s own regrets since he probably holds himself accountable for what happened to Eom-ji. At the same time, some viewers even raised the concern about his girlfriend’s current status, and if she was actually dead or not. Though netizens had a lot to say, especially in terms of expressing their revolting words against the character of Syaon (Lee Si-woo), they largely felt moved by Sol-hee’s decision to still be on Do-ha’s side, accepting that she’s not heard the full story from his side yet.

Her choice of trusting him has now brought us all to this point that the two are ready to share some quality time with each other on home dates and even camping dates. The new stills so unveiled by the network service catch Hwang Min-hyun and Kim So-hyun falling head over heels for each other on their football date despite them rooting for two different clubs as suggested during the initial episodes of the K-drama.

While Do-ha was brought in as a Liverpool fan, Sol-hee was shown to wholeheartedly cheer on Manchester United. One of their first “next-door neighbours” moments had them rooting for their respective favourite teams while overhearing each other’s cries or cheers on the other side of the wall.

Now that the distance between them has been cut short, the pair can kick back for a luxurious in-house date in each other’s company. They both may be wearing two different jerseys, but their hearts have surely become one in all this time they’ve spent to get to know more about each other. The most recent promo video has also teased about them leaning in for a kiss, but it remains to be seen whether the romantic gesture will be actualised or interrupted by an ill-timed goal.
