Kurogiri’s ability to create instant travel routes is crucial to securing victory in the ongoing battle. All For One has long sought to regain control of him, dispatching some of his top-tier villains to complete the mission.

What All For One didn’t anticipate was that a heteromorph would stand in the way of Spinner and his comrades, who were essentially manipulated into following All For One’s orders. Recognizing Spinner’s deep-seated resentment towards humans with “normal” appearances, All For One exploited this hatred to further his agenda. However, Tentacole’s unwavering dedication, along with Anima’s determination and the bravery of the medical personnel, helped many of the heteromorphs realize that their actions were only worsening their situation and harming their own reputation.

If the situation had ended there, things might have taken a positive turn. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. From this point forward, the situation deteriorated rapidly, beginning with Spinner successfully freeing Kurogiri. This development severely complicated matters for both Hawks and Endeavor, who were engaged in a critical battle against All For One at that time.

Kurogiri immediately transported a dangerously reckless Dabi to confront his father, while a vengeance-driven Himiko was sent to face Hawks. Both Dabi and Himiko experienced significant emotional and psychological shifts, strengthening their resolve to destroy everything and solidifying their transformation into fully realized villains.

Keeping up with the mood of the previous episode, this episode also starts with utter chaos. We see Dabi completely surrounding the Gunga mountain with his flames and capturing everyone in the middle. On top of that, Himiko unleashes all of Twice’s duplicates after the heroes, creating a chaotic atmosphere. However, Himiko is not the only one who comes through Kurogiri’s portal Ochaco and Tsuyu follow her as well.

They get joined by Tokoyami and Jiro, and they all plan what their next step is going to be. But things do not look good, and Hawks realizes the gravity of the situation. Thus, he urges Endeavour to face his son even when his condition is beyond repairable. Endeavour has lost his arm, and we know that he is not at all in his prime, but there is no one else who can stop Dabi at this point. Hawks himself decides to take on All For One because if All For One reaches Tomura, everything will come to an end.

This is where we also learn how Tomura is not yet entirely in control of All For One, and he must go to Tomura so that he can make the brainwashing effective. But even without his master, Tomura is wreaking havoc. Kurogiri also took some of the duplicates Himiko made with him and used those to sabotage Monoma and Aizawa. This gave Tomura his power back, and you can imagine what happens next.

But the MVPs of this episode are, surprisingly, not heroes. No, but a group of people who could rise from the shadows and come forward to help because they believe there can be a better future by siding with the good guys.

Verdict

Today’s episode was intense and very uplifting. We are shown how people can reform, and they can indeed strive to be better if they are given the chance. The battle is at its peak now, and even though we are nearing the end, it does not feel rushed but rather very well fleshed out.
