My Dress-Up Darling Episode 3 Title

My Dress-Up Darling or Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi Wo Suru in original Japanese is a romance and slice of life anime based on a popular manga written series by Shinichi Fukuda. It is being adapted into the medium of anime by Studio CloverWorks, a studio that hasn’t exactly been having the best time of its existence right about now. The studio has faced immense criticism in just the previous year for its handling of two anime properties, Wonder Egg Priority and The Promised Neverland Season 2.

Keisuke Shinohara is directing the show. He has been directly involved in the productions of various anime series in the past, including Wonder Egg Priority and Devilman: Crybaby. Click here to read our review of the second episode of the show!

My Dress-Up Darling Episode 3 Review- Now This Is What It should Always Have Been

Gojo My Dress-Up Darling Episode 3

The show went a little too far in the degenerate zone in the previous episode, and since they literally couldn’t have gone any further without turning into an adult show, they decided to pull things back a bit and treat us with a very pleasant and charming episode. The show has only had three episodes aired until now, but this was certainly the best one out of all of them. It will be hard to top the quality of this one, even in the future, as the show moves along.

The reason this outing worked so well was also the show’s biggest positive so far- Marin Kitagawa. She is the one thing that separates this show from the rest, the one pillar that raises My Dress-up Darling‘s profile so much. Not only is she a terrifically designed character, but she is also a well-written one. Her personality is infectious and inimitable, and if she is able to inspire more people to be like her, that can only be a good thing.

MArin Gojo My Dress-Up Darling Episode 3

One would assume someone who works as a model and has the adoration of every one of her peers to be stuck up and unbearable, but one would be wrong. Marin’s personality is just as beautiful as she is. She is the kind who ride or dies for what they believe in, including giving their all to their friends. She is the type to not care a lick about what others’ opinions on her are and who gets on with her day despite what hardships await her.

She and Gojo are a perfect match for each other, despite how different they look or how separate their childhoods were. While the show does explore their backgrounds somewhat, it also doesn’t dwell on them and allows the two to write their own stories. My Dress Up Darling Episode 3 did exactly that as Gojo and Marin went shopping for the cosplay, despite some reservations from Gojo’s side. Marin takes care of him the entire way, and their interactions throughout this entire sequence were absolutely golden.

The storytelling in this one felt very natural and the correct turn of events. After all, why wouldn’t Gojo hate the attention that friendship with Marin has brought him? Why wouldn’t Marin take Gojo shopping with her to buy cosplay accessories, and why wouldn’t she treat him after all he has done for her? It is logical storytelling like this which is sometimes hard to find in shows. The show also looks fantastic, so if you want to look at some beautiful characters, check this one out.

Verdict

My Dress-Up Darling Episode 3 was the best of the series so far, and it showcased everything that is good about the series. Also, less cringe-worthy “sexy” scenes are always welcome.
