Moon Ga-young and Choi Hyun-wook’s upcoming Kdrama My Dearest Nemesis (그놈은 흑염룡) is already garnering attention as the show is set to release soon for Kdrama fans around the world. Based on the popular Webtoon He’s a Black Dragon (그놈은 흑염룡) by Hye Jin-yang, the rom-com looks into an intriguing plot that plays out between two individuals who come together through fate, but in a way that will make you laugh.

The plot follows the reunion of two people as acquaintances at work who met through an online game which ended in a sudden breakup. While online romance doesn’t play out to be as perfect as Moon Ga-young’s characters hoped for, she holds on to a grudge for years into the future. And when given a chance to finally play out her part in getting her revenge, it doesn’t look like she will back up.

My Dearest Nemesis Plot

Baek Su-jeong’s life includes falling in love with a stranger on the internet, facing an unexpected humiliation when she decides to meet him, and finally reaching somewhere good in life years later only to find the same man who broke her heart standing in front of her, as her new boss. Things are never easy for her as romance plays her out until she is ready to get the revenge.

As a high school senior, Su-jeong meets a player online named “Black Dragon: and soon finds herself developing a crush on him. However, when she decides to meet him she is stunned to find out that he isn’t someone her age but a middle schooler who pretended to be a young man. Struck by this humiliating situation, she leaves this incident behind.

However, years later when she becomes a skilled planner at Yongseong Department Store, fate hits her hard again with the arrival of Ban Ju-yeon aka the person she knew as Black Dragon. He is the head of the strategic planning team, her new boss and also the heir to the company. Stuck between the grudge she holds against him and her professional career, she has to navigate her life through the daily ups and downs.

Will she be able to let go of her past and try to resolve the misunderstandings they hold or will she find herself looking for revenge? Is there any room for an unexpected romance in this situation?

Directed by Lee Soo-hyun, the drama stars Moon Ga-young as Baek Su-jeong, Choi Hyun-wook as Ban Ju-yeon, Im Se-mi as Seo Ha-jin, Kwak Shi-yang as Kim Sin-won, Kim Young-ah as Kwon In-gyeong and other cast members.

Moon Ga-young returns with another intriguing role after her hit Kdramas True Beauty and Link: Eat, Love Kill. Alongside her, we have Twinkling Watermelon and Weak Hero Class 1 star Chou Hyun-wook.

My Dearest Nemesis Release Date and Time

My Dearest Nemesis takes over tvN’s Monday and Tuesday 8:50 PM KST time slot previously occupied by The Queen Who Crowns. The show consists of 12 episodes which begin streaming on February 17th, 2025, and will continue to release until April 8th, 2025. With two episodes released each week, the show is set to broadcast on tvN and stream on Viki for international viewers.
