My Dad the Bounty Hunter Ending Explained

It’s Sean’s birthday, and his mother, Tess, is about to drop them off at his father’s place along with Lisa, his sister. They both make their way to the house, but Terry, the father, is still not there. He shows up just in time for the kids to look around the place and start making their assumptions about his life after being separated. All Sean wants to do is go to Splashtown, but since his father was busy today, they might go sometime later.

However, Lisa is not at all happy with this development and being around her father in general, so she makes her way up to their room. Soon, even Sean gets annoyed because his dad gets called to work by someone named The Fixer. Terry is just getting everything ready to leave, calling his mother to babysit and putting all his gear in the car. Sean and Lisa have other plans, though. They make their way to Terry’s car and stay there till they find out that their dad has a spaceship.

Terry wants to take them back, but the warp pods required to get back to Earth are left back home, and they are too expensive to buy. The kids are now stuck with their dad until he finds his bounty and is ready to go back home. His first stop on the way is the Chicken Wing shop, where he’s going to meet his contact.

Things go wrong pretty soon when a tussle erupts in the shop, and everyone is banned for life. But Terry was able to get a location of his bounty out of the contact, and they soon made their way to the planet. Before they do that, however, they stop at a shop to fill fuel and get some food. But a bug problem, which is essentially an infestation, delays their attempts at leaving soon. In an attempt to save the ship from the bugs, a generator gets destroyed, which warrants another pitstop for the family.

At this planet, people are small and cute and ride large whale-sized dogs as public transport. This place also has a fighting ring in which Sean gets roped in after they find the generator and are unable to pay for it. He is seen fighting against a giant robot that has a circular saw. Eventually, Sean figures out its weak spot and hits it to win the generator. Even though Terry is initially angry about it, he is happy that Sean figured out how to get what they needed.

Now, they make their way to Chillian-5, where Terry’s contact said they would find the bounty. He is looking around at this giant space where she could be hidden anywhere. Since the place is so large, the family decide that it is better to look around and have fun while looking for the bounty. Lisa and Sean are having food when the kid drops some soda on his shirt. Terry asks Lisa to stay put while they get his shirt cleaned. It was at this moment that she saw the bounty and decided to follow her.

She finds out that the bounty is trying to save the native species Chilla who have been captured and used by EHC to mine material for the warp pods. The Chilla’s are the only ones who can touched them without getting warped. Lisa thinks that the bounty, whose name is Vax, is actually the good guy helping the ones oppressed instead of being complicit to something this dark. She leaves her dad and Sean and decides to free the Chilla along with Vax and her team.

Before they can escape from the planet, a sulphur cloud causes a weather event. Vax gets caught by Terry, and Lisa makes her way to the holding cell grudgingly. The spaceship flies away, and Terry is manning the ship to get to his employer to get the bounty hunting money. But Lisa, Vax and Sean escape trying to get back to the planet, but they get sucked in by another rival spaceship led by Glorlox. They catch all the bounties and throw them in the cell.

Eventually, Lisa figures out a way to open the cell and escape while the Chillas help in fighting against Glorlox’s team. Sean has been getting the ship ready, and they all make their way out of the galaxy using the warp pods given to them by the Chillas. When they get home, they find Tess standing there with her arms crossed, annoyed that they went to space. After a long, winding talk about their past, Lisa and Sean find out that they are half aliens.

However, celebrations remain on hold when The Fixer shows up at their house trying to kill the family. You cannot hurt him in any way, but they find out that using the warp pods on him makes his body go away. So they start throwing the pods at him, and he disappears into oblivion. Before the show ends, there is another scene where we see his car sending a signal, possibly alluding that there are more like The Fixer coming to Earth in an attempt to find his killers.
