Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11 Review: To Come Clean For Love

It is time. Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11 sees the secret that Fitz has been hiding come to the forefront towards the end of this arc. Let’s see how it goes for the main characters in this review!

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11 Overview

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11 Title

Mushoku Tensei, also known as Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation or Mushoku Tensei Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu in original Japanese, is an adventure, drama and fantasy anime based on a light novel series written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Sirotaka. This episode is also known as Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 11 and Mushoku Tensei Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Season 2 Episode 11.

The latest season of the anime is being directed by Hiroki Hirano, who served as an assistant director of the second part of the show’s first season. However, the studio that produces and adapts the anime remains the same, as that responsibility again falls to Studio Bind, who haven’t really done anything other than Mushoku Tensei. Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11 Review- To You

Rudeus Fitz Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11

The main character of this episode wasn’t Rudeus but Fitz/Sylphie, as we looked at the situation from her perspective. Rudy knows that she’s a girl, but he doesn’t exactly know which one. It has been a while since he last saw his best friend, and he has travelled halfway across the world on foot in that time. He can be forgiven for not remembering Sylphie’s exact face, especially given that her most striking trait- her hair, had been hidden with the wig she wore to become Fitz. So, we have an explanation for why things happened the way they did, but what about Sylphie?

Even when taking her perspective, the only reason she didn’t reveal herself to Rudeus when she first saw him is anxiety. Sure, she wasn’t sure if the Princess trusted him to know Fitz’s secret identity yet, which is something that we only saw truly conclude in this episode, but Sylphie knew as well as anyone how trustworthy Rudy was capable of being. At the end of the day, the only thing stopping them both from reconciling was Sylphie’s own imagination telling her that she wouldn’t be able to handle it if Rudy didn’t remember her after all.

Princess Fitz Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11

I do not blame her for this thought, for just imagining myself in the position she is afraid of gives me shivers, so her dilemma can be considered effective writing on the part of the writer. The way she goes about getting herself out of it takes a lot of courage, and with the time she has spent working with the Princess, the Princess is all too happy to give her the encouragement (and permissions) that Sylphie needs. Not only that, but she also had to be practically forced into revealing her true feelings and acting on them, which is also very relatable.

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11 was once again a slower episode for this season. Still, this episode had a purpose- to resolve the convoluted situation between Syplhie and Rudy, and it did just that. A plan is formulated to get the two together once and for all that is based on replicating the first time the duo ever met and another related interaction that happened soon after. It was nice having a callback to the first season and drawing an amazing parallel that we haven’t had the chance to discuss yet.

Taking our minds back to when Rudy and Sylphie were first friends, he thought Sylphie was a buy and thus had the awkward interaction in the bathroom that we all remember. That forms a delightful irony mentioned in this episode, as he still thought of her as a man until the previous episode. However, this time, it was because of how she presented herself to him. This was a very simple episode that did everything right and managed to end this particular plotline with a lot of grace.

Verdict

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Episode 11 was a purposeful episode designed to finish the cat-and-mouse chase between Rudy and Sylphiette and did so in a heartwarming and sensible way.
