Murder Mindfully Ending Explained

The story begins with Björn adopting Mindfulness practices to find his work-life balance and spend more time with his daughter, whom he dearly loves. But when out on a trip with his daughter, he gets a call from his client who’s a mob boss and is forcing him to meet him urgently. Upon reaching his office and meeting with his client Dragan, he realises that this time the case won’t be easy for him to handle. Forced to help Dragan escape by hiding him in his car truck and his daughter in the front seat, Björn has to do all it takes to ensure their safety.

However, upon reaching their destination, he chooses to not help Dragan out of the trunk which leads to him dying of suffocation. In the meantime, Björn with his mindfulness practices enjoys the day with his daughter at the lake house. This begins his journey as a murderer as he tries to convince others that Dragan is alive to ensure his and his family’s safety. With the help of mindfulness practices, he keeps calm in the most drastic of situations and faces them with an almost psychopathic ease.

But with Dragan’s rival Borris still hot on his tail, and police finding Dragan’s ring finger which he lost after disposing of the corpse, Björn finds himself in trouble once again. Soon, he begins planning a game to manipulate the two and carving his way out of trouble.

What Happened to Dragan’s Gang?

After the events of the lake house, Björn keeps Dragan’s thumb finger which he uses to sign off important documents and messages for his men. Björn fools everyone into thinking that Dragan is alive and hidden, soon manipulating them into taking him as the man who conveys Dragan’s orders to them. He becomes the boss of the group and also faces the problems arising from Borris’ side who is looking for Dragan who had murdered his right-hand man.

How Does Björn Handle Borris and the Traitor in the Gang?

Seeing Borris looking for Dragan, he turns to Sascha and tries to find out the real reason why Dragan killed Borris’ man. He soon finds out that there is a traitor within them who later turns out to be Toni. When kidnapped by Borris’ men, he reveals the truth about the incident to him and assures Borris that he will deliver the traitor to him. Soon, he begins his plans by first finding proof against Toni. He later reveals the same to the other members under Dragan and adds them to the plan.

With their help, Björn finally captures Toni and hands him over to Borris who blows him with bombs. But this is not the end for Björn as Borris had also ordered him to get him to meet Dragan. During the time of the exchange, Björn was ready with another plan that would help him rid of this problem as well.

How Does Björn Escape from Borris’ Clutches?

During the exchange, Björn teams up with Sascha and gets him to fly a drone around the scene (which has labels of the police on it) of Borris killing Toni. After blowing up Toni into bits, the drone flying above them spreads a sense of panic. Björn then manipulates the scene by telling everyone that the police must have captured evidence of Borris killing someone and must be nearby.

He creates a hurried atmosphere and tells Borris that he will take him to Dragan who is hidden in a very good place. Unable to keep calm at the moment, Borris agrees to the plan and takes Björn to his car. Björn then tells him to get inside the truck of the car for his safety and locks him there, promising to take him to Dragan.

He once again repeats what he did to Dragan with Borris, and takes his thumb before making him disappear just like Dragan at the same lake house.

What About Nicole?

Nicole is the detective on this case and has been doubting Björn since the beginning. But with no clue in hand, her theory of Björn possibly having murdered Dragan. She even approaches Emily to find out if Dragan was at the lake house on the weekend she went there with her father but finds nothing. However, she almost invokes the fury of Emily’s father who once again controls himself with the help of mindfulness.

Björn simply manipulates Nicole and during a one-on-one meeting with her, he blames her suspicious nature on their past feelings. He smoothly makes her feel guilty for approaching Emily, which really crosses the line on her part. Additionally, he rules out the fact that she is tired due to her work and being a single parent.

As he smoothly attacks her vulnerability, he offers her a kindergarten acceptance letter for her child which would help her a lot. This helps fix things between them as Nicole begins to feel grateful and loses her guard against Björn. However, things don’t end there for when Nicole finally begins to end the case, she hits the mimicking toy that belonged to Emily and hears a voice confessing to chopping his client.

What Could be the Reason for Björn’s Mistake?

While Björn dealt with all the big hurdles related to the murders with perfection, it is the things he didn’t fear that left behind this evidence. His mindfulness practices helped him stay on guard when it came to things directly related to the murder, but when it came to his daughter’s toy, he simply forgot about it. This can also be related to the fact that Emily is the one person whom he is never guarded against and anything related to her is never feared by him.

Also, at some point, he got overconfident in his manipulation and believed that no evidence was left behind. He also believes in his perfectionist self which also ended up with him leaving the toy behind. Altogether, I believe that Björn is capable fo manipulating his way out of this evidence as well and the toy only makes for a good continuation of the story.

Will there be a Season 2?

Honestly, I really hope that there is a season 2. I want to see how Björn deals with the evidence and his newfound life as the mastermind behind the mob. He now has two of the biggest gangs under his thumb (or well Dragan and Borris’ thumb) and I would like to see how he grows hereon. Plus, I cannot get enough of his internal monologues that kept the comedy going and would like to get some more of that.

What do you think about there being a season 2? Let us know in the comments below!
