Moving In With Malaika Episode 3 Review: Finding Humour In Conflicts

Moving In With Malaika is a new reality show that will centre around actress, model, dancer and VJ Malaika Arora. Created by Malaika herself, along with Banijay Asia, the show will give us an exclusive and up-close look at the life of the Indian celebrity. Moving in With Malaika Episode 3, which premiered on December 7, 2022, has a runtime of 26 minutes.

The actress rose to fame for her appearance in the famous Bollywood song Chaiyan Chaiyan from the movie Dil Se.. along with Shah Rukh Khan. She has been in the public eye ever since, and her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, brother of Salmaan Khan, is one of the most talked about instances around the town. She has also been a victim of internet trolls following her dating news with Arjun Kapoor.

Hence, she has decided to take matters into her own hands and create a show that will show her true self.

Disney+ Hotstar description of the show reads:

ALL set to showcase her true self, Malaika will shut down trolls in her quintessential Arora style as she opens up about her life

-Moving In With Malaika Episode 3 Review Contains No Spoilers-

The episode picked up from where the previous one ended. Malaika and Neha’s conversation continues about getting back into showbiz again. Malaika tried to seek validation and an extra push from her friend, but it became advice to slow down before rushing into things.

Malaika is seen venturing and learning about a new skill set, the art of standup comedy. Her hesitation and nervousness do not stop her from taking another step towards it. In this episode, it can be seen that she is trying to get out of her comfort zone and deliver to the audience what they have been asking for.

This new episode is refreshing as it is kept simple and straight to the point. The viewers see Malaika in a new avatar, her softer side and her being immersed in learning new things every day. Malaika also shows off her funnier side that people rarely get to notice. She looked stunning in her designer outfits, and the background music kept the show fun.

Even though the celebrity was seen doing new things, the episode still felt bland. There was nothing much interesting going on for the audience to remain hooked. It again failed to dive deep into the actual life of the star. The only interesting thing would be the appearance of comedian Sumukhi, who is naturally a funny and positive presence on screen.

Moving In With Malaika Episode 3: Final Thoughts

To sum it up, this episode was rather boring and bland. Nothing was exciting or intriguing about it. It feels like a reality show where a contestant is given the task to take up new challenges in every upcoming episode, and the only difference is the tasks are much less entertaining. Everything done and said in the segments are generic conversations; there was no big revelation as the background music tries to suggest.

The audience was seeking the unfiltered and real Malaika Arora in her unapologetically bold self, but we got exactly the opposite. In the entirety of thirty minutes, there was rarely anything interesting going on. It was scripted as usual, where the viewers only got to see what Malaika wanted them to see.
