We are here to enumerate the English, and Non-English Most Popular Shows of 2022 on Netflix, two of the four lists the platform has officially released, looking back at their biggest hits of the year. The shows listed are the original content the platform has been creating recently and gaining a large amount of traffic on the site.

The platform has been releasing content in English and various other languages from different regions for inclusivity. A list of the most-watched series has been revealed by Netflix based on the number of hours a title is viewed in the first 28 days of streaming availability. The data is collected from January 1 to December 18, 2022.

Many must-watch shows are listed below, without further ado, let us dive right into it.

Most Popular Shows of 2022 on Netflix (English)

Stranger Things 4, starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Sadie Sink, captures the top spot by a huge margin. Released in two parts, the show remained in the Global Top 10 list for over 19 weeks and currently sits at the Global Number 1 of all time with a staggering 1.35 billion watch hours in 28 days. However, Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones, comes at a close second and remains 5 weeks on the global list, followed by Dahmer– Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, starring Evan Peters, who took up the role of serial killer Jeffery Dahmer in third place.

The fourth spot is occupied by the second instalment of the period drama Bridgerton Season 2, and Inventing Anna comes in fifth place. The final season of Ozark takes sixth place and season 1 of The Watcher comes in seventh. The Sandman, Umbrella Academy Season 3 and Virgin River take the eighth, ninth and tenth place, respectively.

Most Popular Shows of 2022 on Netflix (Non-English)

Many Korean dramas top the list of the most watched Non-English shows on the platform. The K-drama, All of Us Are Dead occupies the first spot and remained 11 weeks in the Global Top 10 list, followed by Extraordinary Attorney Woo, which managed to stay for over 10 weeks in the global list. Spanish thriller series The Marked Heart comes in third place.

Spanish series Til Money Do Us Part took fourth place, and Elite season 5 came in fifth place. High Heat came in sixth place, followed by the German series The Empress in seventh. Popular K-drama Business Proposal gained the eighth position, and Wrong Side of the Tracks and Welcome to Eden occupied the ninth and tenth place, respectively.
