The biggest night of Fashion, Met Gala 2022 is almost here! The star-studded night is the annual fundraising gala held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. Organized by Vogue haute couture magazine, this event marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. From celebrities to fashion world geniuses to sports personalities, over the years the guestlist for fashion’s biggest and most glamourous night has only grown offering us an event that nothing can ever substitute.
Every year a theme is laid out for the annual Met Gala and, celebrities walk the red carpet in style. From Harry Styles dressed in Gucci following Camp Notes back in 2019 to Blake Lively’s divine Versace gown for the 2018’s Heavenly Bodies to Emmy Rossum in Ralph Lauren for the 2006 AngloMania theme, the day is filled with the most high-end, risky as well as flavourful choices. Met Gala 2022 Theme
This year’s Met Gala theme is In America: An Anthology of Fashion with the dress code being Gilded Glamour and White Tie. The theme focuses on inclusivity in fashion. According to Vogue, the theme asks the “attendees to embody the grandeur — and perhaps the dichotomy — of Gilded Age New York.”

Met Gala 2022 Hosts
Hosts are always the ones with the most fun costumes at the gala. This year we have Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda as co-chairs. The honorary co-chairs include Designer Tom Ford, Instagram’s Adam Mosseri, and Anna Wintour. The live stream event will be hosted by Hamish Bowles, Vanessa Hudgens and La La Anthony.
Met Gala 2022 Date and More
Met Gala is always scheduled on the first Monday of a month, each year. So, for 2022, we have the event taking place on Monday, May 2nd at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York at 6 pm EDT (May 3, 3:30 AM IST). The event will be live-streamed on the Vogue website for the globe to watch.
As for the guest list, it is kept under wraps until the event comes to life. But, news reports already state Kylie Jenner landing in New York with her daughter, Stormi. So, we can expect to see her. Apart from that, reports are that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will be attending the event together alongside Deepika Padukone and Sydney Sweeney. Rihanna might be skipping it this year due to her pregnancy, but we can never be too sure about the queen.
