Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms Episode 2 Review

We have another new episode where Mona is having another crisis regarding her newest interest, Medaka. Mona still cannot understand why anyone would not fall in love with her when everyone has loved her from the beginning. It is not like her charms have died down or her beauty does not work on anyone else. Everyone at school is still as smitten with her as always. However, Medaka is the only one who can be completely nonchalant about the gorgeous Mona.

In this episode as well, Mona thinks of ways and tactics that would eventually make Medaka fall for her and admit defeat. She does not know that it is not like her charms are not working, but it’s just that Medaka is supposed to inherit a shrine as a priest, and he is not supposed to get involved with any woman. In the beginning, we see Mona modelling for Medaka. She plans to enamour him with her very tantalizing poses that are sure to make anyone fight for her attention. But as always, Medaka wins his inner battle against any lustful thoughts and manages to keep his calm.

Not only that, but there is another issue at hand. Haruno, who is a shy and quiet girl in their class, keeps sneaking looks at Medaka and Mona. Thus, Mona quickly comes to the conclusion that Haruno might be interested in Medaka in a romantic way and this changes everything for her. She now must quicken things up and make him fall for her as soon as possible. This also leads her to act like a bookish girl with glasses and everything but even that approach fails.
Finally, the last trick that Mona decides to use is the most potent seduction technique in her arsenal. But she finally realizes that maybe her plan to make Medaka fall for her might be backfiring on her.
Verdict

I like today’s episode as we see a cute side of Mona, who usually acts in a brash manner. It is very apparent that she herself likes Medaka very much, but her pride is not going to let her agree to that. She’s also not a bad girl at heart, as we see her agreeing to how Haruno is a less superficial girl who is better suited for Medaka than her. Hopefully, Mona will be able to profess her feelings truthfully, and Medaka will be able to do the same in the future.
