MasterChef India Season 7 Episode 58 Reactions: Fans Question the Use of Basic Challenges to Test the Home Cooks

MasterChef India Season 7 Episode 58 is hosted by Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and joined by Garima Arora as a judge on the show, the seventh instalment of the series has been produced by Endemol Shine India and directed by Neeraj Shetty. The latest episode, titled ‘Dahi Challenge’, that premiered on March 22, 2023, at 9PM IST, continued to evaluate the contestants on the basis of the previous challenge, i.e. the Biryani Challenge, in addition to presenting them with a new task that required creatively churning out a unique drink using Dahi.

The cooking competition show is a nationwide quest to find the best ‘home cook’ and draws out some of the most brilliant chefs from across India. The judges sample recipes from various cuisines that the contestants prepare in their search for India’s ‘MasterChef’. And after going through many challenges, one will win the grand prize and the titles.

Episode 58 proves that the competition is far from over. Despite this being regarded as the ‘finale week’, one of the home cooks still had to face the dread of being given the black apron. This format has the fans puzzled because things possibly won’t be concluded by the end of this week and will likely be ensued next week.

As noticed through the last few episodes, Chef Vikas has been more open about his judgements to the contestants instead of just going along with the tide. While these true reviews have joined the show later than expected, fans have zestfully accepted them with open arms, wishing he’d adopted this stance earlier in the game.

With the Biryani challenge being followed up by a dahi challenge, another common response from the fans tagged along after today’s episode as well, which had to do with the lack of innovation, in turn tying with the level of difficulty of these tasks. Viewers believe that these challenges are not worth testing the calibre of the final top contestants as they need to push them to be daring enough and experiment with what they have at hand. Nevertheless, Santa and Nayanjyoti continue to impress the audiences at home despite the lack of thrill and excitement that should rise to the top as we approach the final episode. However, it seems to have died down through the journey.
