The Immunity challenge continues in the latest episode, and it is the final day, which will decide the ultimate winner. The contestants arrive and notice that the room is filled with rows of cloches. The judges reveal that the objects have ingredients underneath, which will be part of the task. Through a game of lottery, each contestant will pick an ingredient (based purely on luck) that will be the main element of their dishes. The cloches are divided into five rows: dairy, protein, cooking method, fruits and vegetables and herbs and spices.
Priyanka picked ghee, Suvarna picked Indian salmon, Kamaldeep picked chayote squash, Nayanjyoti picked the baking method, and Aruna picked basil leaves. Each selected ingredient had to be present in the dishes that they cooked. Some of the contestants were displeased with a few ingredients, but overall everyone was satisfied with it.

The judges started to visit each counter as the contestants were cooking the dishes. Chef Garima expressed how impressed she was with Kamldeep’s dish in the previous episode and was expecting no less from her today. This put her under a lot of pressure, but she managed to keep herself calm. Meanwhile, the judges were always present to offer advice to the ones who were facing any difficulties and helped them to get back on the right track.
Kamaldeep was the first contestant to be called for the taste test. She presented a dish called ‘Amritsari Fried Fish with Hollandaise sauce’. The judges tasted the dish and called upon all the other contestants to taste it. Panic started to grow within Kamaldeep as she could not understand the situation. The Chefs finally revealed that they were beyond impressed with the dish and its vibrant flavours. The contestant grew emotional after the praises.

The next dish presented was from Nayanjoti, who cooked Cramelle Pasta with Baked Fish. Vikas complimented him for achieving the perfect shape and texture of the pasta. But they were disappointed with the lack of seasoning as the fish remained bland. Aruna was invited next, and her dish was ‘Stuffed Chayote with Strawberry and Basil Sauce’. The judges were blown away by her invention and her ability to create a fusion of Indian and Western flavours.
Priyanka was called next, and she named her dish ‘Something Fishy’, which included baked salmon, flan, basil sauce and basil oil. The dish looked spectacular, but the chefs were expecting more from it. However, they complimented her efforts. Lastly, Suvarna presented her dish called ‘Chow Chow Fish’. The judges were highly disappointed and offered some positive criticism. They urged her to improve as the competition was getting tough with each passing day.
Finally, the winner was announced, and it was none other than Kamaldeep. The contestant receives full immunity for the next week’s elimination round. Everyone congratulated her for the win, and the episode ended on that note.
MasterChef India Season 7 Episode 35 Review: Final Thoughts
The episode was bland and unexciting. It failed to pique the audience’s interest as the challenge offered nothing new to the table. The ingredients chosen were also fairly easy and repeated. There was no surprise element in the task or the segment. The dishes created by the participants also unable to captivate the viewers.
However, the contestants’ efforts to re-create dishes with very minimal ingredients offered to them do not go unnoticed. They try to re-invent and stand out each time. It is also commendable how they include a part of their culture in everything they create.

MasterChef India Season 7 is currently streaming on Sony LIV and a new episode is released from Monday to Friday at 9 PM.
