MasterChef Australia Season 15 has been facing some delays. For those who don’t know, it is due to the unfortunate passing away of the fan favourite judge, Jock Zonfrillo. Following, this tragic news, the network decided not to air the episodes as scheduled. The week has really been terrible for viewers, fans, participants and, almost anyone connected to the MasterChef AU community and the cooking arena as a whole.
The Scottish Chef and TV presenter was a heartthrob and the person everyone has always looked up to in the show. The founder of The Orana Foundation, this MasterChef Australia judge passed away at the age of 46. Celebrities from all over the world, starting from Gordon Ramsey to the other judges- Andy Allen and Melissa Leong, shared their condolences as this sad news surfaced only a few days before the first episode of the fifteenth season was about to air. In fact, the preview posts and reels for the first few episodes were also released when this devastating news came to light.
On May 1 2023, the social media handles of the cooking show revealed that Network 10 and Endemol Shine Australia are deeply shocked and saddened at the sudden loss. The post ended by saying that the show will not air this week. This decision only made sense given how we will be able to see Jock in the episodes and, that would just leave us all with tears as he has already shot the episodes.

So as of now, the new release date for MasterChef Australia Season 15 is 7 May 2023, which is a Sunday. It will be available on Channel 10. The show will also be available on Disney+ Hotstar for audiences elsewhere. The episode is scheduled to begin with a special segment from an hour ago i.e., 6:30 PM that will pay tribute to the late chef.
