In 75 minutes, the contestants who cook the best dish will get a direct chance to enter the immunity challenge. However, the least 4 impressive dishes will send their makers to the Pressure Test challenge.
MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 31 Recap Contains Spoilers
Every contestant wants to give their best in the Rainy Day Mystery Box Challenge on MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 31. Some contestants get nostalgic while cooking and share beautiful anecdotes about the dish they’re cooking. Aldo gets teary-eyed while cooking the dish that his nonna would always make. The contestant shares that he’s missing his family a lot.
Tommy cooks Banh Canh Cua, which turns out to be the best dish of the challenge. The judges don’t stop praising his cooking skills and how delicious his dish is. The judges also enjoy Aldo’s Pasta e Fagioli and Alvin’s Babi Pongteh, and Sambal Ikan Bilis. However, it’s Tommy’s dish that makes the judges happiest. He will be directly sent to the immunity challenge.
About his dish, Tommy shared on Instagram, “Aight, so y’all want to be stuck at home with me when there’s a typhoon out for sureee ????
Tonight on @masterchefau I made the most expensive version of Banh Canh Cua I could possibly make, I mean the MC pantry is all free so why not? I guess when you go that hard on flavour you can’t miss. Thank you @fooderati @andyallencooks @zonfrillo for giving me dish of the day, little Tommy would be so happy ???? . I learnt how to cook Banh Canh Cua from both my mum and my mother in law, they both cook it completely differently. The version I cooked today is my hybrid version from both mums + some MC skills to zhuzh it up.
My fav fav fav thing about Banh Canh Cua is all the textures. You’ve got thick chewy tapioca rice noodles, a slurpy thickened pork and crab broth, topped with velvety picked mudcrab I mean cmon that’s lush AF.
If you ever see this on a menu anywhere fam try it out, just the noodle texture is worth it!”
Coming to the weakest dishes of the Rainy Day challenge, they were prepared by Montana, Michael, Daniel and Matt. These four contestants will face the Pressure Test, and one of them will be eliminated from MasterChef Australia.
MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 31 Recap: Final Thoughts
The Rainy Day Mystery Box Challenge was another fun cooking challenge. I wonder why some contestants decided to experiment with their cook. Rain food is all about comfort, and comfort can be found even in the simplest dishes.
