They are allowed to cook with only the ingredients that are revealed and, have the liberty to start cooking at any point in time, however, they will only get whatever amount of time is left on the clock by then.
MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 14 Recap Contains Spoilers
The first ingredient is not only revealed by Curtis Stone but, it is also picked by him and, is a must-use in the dish. The big reveal gives the contestants apples but, there are no takers initially. In the next three minutes the under bench pantry is revealed and, Tommy, Sarah and John start their cooking with 57 minutes in hand. Alvin jumps in on 54 minutes with a selection of spirits and liqueurs revealed as the third ingredient.
At 51 minutes there is a range of pork revealed as an ingredient. With speck, pancetta, pork mince, fillet, chops, and shoulders on the plate, Billie takes up cooking at the station. Root vegetables are the next set of ingredients but, we have no takers from the rest of the favourites left. Aromatics come up next which include chilli, garlic, onions and ginger which is when Mindy enters the game. We see Aldo hoping for some cinnamon to turn up, meanwhile, Sashi wishes for some scallops for the dish in his mind. But, unfortunately, the next ingredient up is berries and, sadly, there are no takers.
With less than 40 minutes in hand, the next ingredient under the sheets is a collection called ‘flavour town’, which includes rice wine, vinegar, galangal, shallots, pineapple, tamarind, peanuts, fish sauce, palm sugar and coconut. Sashi enters the competition at this point with the sweet and sour ingredients in the pantry. Julie, Aldo and Michael are the last ones with 36 minutes on the clock left. The next ingredients are cabbage and leafy greens packed in one box. With no takers this time around too, we move on to the tenth ingredient soon enough.

It is citrus! The box includes lemons, limes, grapefruits, finger limes, pomelos and oranges. Aldo waits no longer and, takes up some limes and, heads to cook. At 30 minutes, seafood is revealed as the next ingredient and, Michael and Julie take it up. Unfortunately, if Sashi had sacrificed more time, he would have gotten his scallops in this box.
With very less amount of time left in hand in the MasterChef Australia kitchen, we see our cooks speed up not without stress taking them over. Tommy and Sarah seem to cook the same type of dish. Meanwhile, Aldo sweats out under the pressure of passing time. We see Tommy and Sarah struggle with unmoulding and, it is super difficult for them to get their dishes out. Half of Sarah’s gateaux remains on the bottom of the baking dish and, Tommy’s flan does not look very good.
Dishes come out one after the other in MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 14 for tasting. Sashi’s Pork & Apple Red Curry is the first up for tasting which receives praises from the judges and, following that we have Tommy’s Banh Gan, which might not look so good but, it is absolutely delicious. Invisible Apple Gateau by Sarah is up next which the judges like. Mindy brings in her Mandarin Pancakes with Stir-Fried Minced Pork and an Apple Nam Jim, Alvin comes in with Apple and Butterscotch and, Christina with her flatbread with different textures of apple, all of which receive constructive criticism and, overall, good feedback.
John presents an apple pie with does well enough with the judges. Aldo presents an Apple Chiacchiere which he serves in a very less quantity as it is finger food. The judges love it from the texture to the execution. Julie is the next one to present her dish which is Scallops with Apple slaw and Prosciutto. The judges are pleased with Julie’s dish but, the dish, however, lacks acidity according to Curtis Stone. Michael brings in his Apple & Scallop Ceviche, which is visually not so pleasing but, flavour-wise is a win-win.
