Mallari Movie on Netflix: Release Date, Plot of Piolo Pascual’s Horror Film

Filipino movies have long showcased different interesting and layered stories that are relatable to viewers of all ages. Netflix has also brought forth many such stories which discuss various aspects of Filipino culture and include various genres such as drama, romance, comedy, horror and more. Thus, director Roderick Cabrido’s latest movie, Mallari comes on the platform at an opportune time to make a forceful impact.

Mallari Movie Plot

Taking place across three timelines, 1812, 1948 and 2023, the story follows the Mallari family and the curse that has followed its descendants since 1812. Starting from Juan Severino Mallari, who murdered several people after his mother was cursed by their servants in their new home in Magalang. With this horrifying turn of events that turns Juan into a sinister serial killer, we are taken on a ride to see the impact on his descendants Johnrey and Jonathan, whom the curse follows through different times. We learn of their surprising abilities that go beyond normal understanding as they try to end a monstrous burden that has affected them and everyone around them throughout generations.

Directed by Roderick Cabrido and written by Enrico Santos, this Filipino horror movie stars Piolo Pascual, Janella Salvador, Elisse Joson, JC Santos, Gloria Diaz and others.

With a runtime of 129 minutes, the movie is all set to release on Netflix on June 21, 2024, at 12 AM IST.
