Breaking away from the traditional survival show format that usually features trainees from entertainment agencies, Make Mate One focuses on the journeys of ordinary boys with no agency ties. The ultimate goal is to discover a new boy group that will win hearts and shake up the industry.
The judging panel is composed of prominent figures from the K-pop world. EXO’s Xiumin leads as the host, joined by Solar, renowned vocal coach Lim Han-byul (Onestar), dance expert Kim Sung-eun, and rap mentors Hanhae, Vata, and Ingyoo. Once the eliminations are announced, the show will transition into the highly anticipated Round 3 mission, known as the “Concept Mission.” This round is particularly exciting because it features live broadcast performances.
The outcome of these performances will play a pivotal role in deciding who advances to the finals. This is the contestants’ last chance to impress the judges and audience, making it a critical moment in their journey. Brief Make Mate 1 Episode 7 Recap
The episode begins with the continuation of the round 2 mission. In the previous episode, we witnessed the girl group challenge, and in this one, the next two teams need to perform legendary solo stages. Team A, naming themselves Delinquent Boys, and Team B, named Michelin, compete. Team B wins the toss and performs first, featuring Midori, Janh Hyun-joon, Noh Ki-hyun, Kim Hak-sung, Jo Min-jae, and Choi Min-joon, who perform BIG BANG Taeyang’s RINGA LINGA. Initially facing several mistakes during the internal check, the coach helps them improve. During the final performance, they excel, with each member shining equally, delivering an outstanding performance.
Following Team B’s performance, Team A, consisting of Takuma, Miraku, Lin, Lee Jang-hee, Lee Do-ha, and Kim Shi-on, performs G-DRAGON’s Crooked. They impress everyone with a standout and enjoyable performance. However, after the audience votes are revealed, Team B emerges victorious, while Team A faces defeat in this round.
