Through the means of SM Entertainment’s digital music channel, i.e. SM Station, LIM KIM and JAMIE have released their collaborative single Love Me Crazy on February 28, 2023. During the course of the 3 minute video, several alter egos of the two solo artists can be spotted. If one pair is stuck inside the frozen ice mould, the other team of the singers breaks it.

The song speaks up for the different forms and styles of expressions of love, representing the same sentiments in the form of psychedelic visuals, which sometimes pull up a snow-capped Christmasy vibe, and at other occasions brings on a scorching red demeanour. The vibrant outlook of the video starkly contrasts the song’s melody, which is lightheartedly casual and chic, much like the style donned by the artists. Their fashion choices complement each other and make up for a feel good combination.
If JAMIE adds a peppy tone to the song, Kim balances it with her soft vocals. Their energies play off each other while paying a special focus to the song’s hook that lists out the various ways they’d like to be loved. While this message can cross over as a direct note to an imagined lover figure, it can also be a hint to the fans, each of whom may choose to love the artists in their own ways.
With a calming tonality, the song makes for a soothing digital premiere that fits the cafe vibe and could easily fit into the coffee shop soundtrack list if we were the owners.

SM’s digital music project, i.e. SM Station has allowed for many collaborations to happen, and even let artists from its pre-existing K-pop groups to go solo and experiment with their music style through this platform. It first commenced its course in 2016, and has listed numerous music releases under its name including Red Velvet’s Wendy and MeloMance’s Miracle, NCT’s Taeyong and Wonstein’s Love Theory, EXO’s Chanyeol’s Tomorrow and many more.
