Love is Blind Season 4 Review: The Vibes are Soo Right… Not!

Love is Blind is a reality dating TV series hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey. Love is Blind season 4 has 10 episodes, each with a runtime of around 50 minutes.

Love is Blind features several hopeful singles who fall in love without laying eyes on each other. Drama and heartbreak ensue. Will the couples be able to go to the alter in the end?

– Love is Blind Season 4 Review Does Not Contain Spoilers –

I wonder when Venessa and Nick Lachey became the end-all-be-all for love and “experimental love”. I try to remember a time when I turned on a Netflix reality dating show, and they weren’t there talking about experiments and “this is where you might find your husband/wife”.

Love is Blind has a very specific and done-to-death formula that it loves adhering to. Venessa and Nick Lachey call it an experiment where you can find love and a partner, although the last three seasons have been anything but toxic. I mean, the last season alone should send anyone thinking about joining this mess running for the hills. Unfortunately, that is just wishful thinking.

So we have another batch of hopeful singles who all “feed off another person’s vibes” and want to come out shining from the other side. These people are gorgeous; no two ways about that. And although the first few episodes seem like the dullest thing in the world, maybe the last episode will surprise you to your core. I know the last three seasons didn’t disappoint with the cringe and the toxicity.

One interesting thing that I have found to come out every season is the fact that the contestants always think that everyone who has participated is ready for a relationship and ready to get married. Time and time again, we have seen in the past that that isn’t true. There’s also fake feminism and overtly dramatic reactions to everything. It all feels forced, scripted and unnecessary.

Even when people are crying at sad and deep things, you still know that something is off. And it happens in every season. It’s repetitive, even down to the kind of people chosen for the show and who gets on with whom and what kind of drama happens in the pods as well as outside. Now at the third season, you will be left confused, wondering why we are seeing it again and again.

Plus, there’s also the odd phenomenon of people making the worst choices in spite of knowing their true feelings. Some even have the audacity to try and be with two people. Ok, scratch that; most of these people think that. Love is Blind is now more than trashy TV; it’s just shameless in its portrayal of relationships. The sheer amount of toxicity that is present in the living quarters is just shameful, considering these are adults who just have to hurt each other for a chance at love. Or maybe it’s just sad, I don’t exactly know.

Summing Up: Love is Blind Season 4

I haven’t even watched the entire season yet, but that trailer makes it more than apparent that it’s going to be as messy as the last season. I mean, that season just kept on giving so much crap so long after the season was over. For those of us who love to binge on crap, this one might just be it. At least there’s a lot of gossip after these messy couples invariably break up.

Love is Blind season 4 is streaming on Netflix.
