Longest First Date is an upcoming documentary featuring a couple who met through an online dating app, but their relationship changed too fast following the Covid-19 lockdown, forcing them to move in together. Directed by Brent Hodge, the show is described as both a modern rom-com and an unexpected social experiment.
Much of the footage for the docu-series is taken in Costa Rica. The show will consist of several episodes walking us through the unusual relationship.

The documentary will feature Khani Le, a surfer and Matt Robertson, an aspiring vlogger. They will extensively talk about their how their relationship began and continued through the lockdown. Additionally, we will also receive a different point of view from both people about the sudden situation, expressing how they dealt with each other in isolation.
Longest First Date Plot
The series featuring Khani and Matt is basically about how their relationship escalated from zero to a hundred very quickly. Due to circumstantial reasons, they were forced to build a connection way more intimate than they initially expected. Before knowing each other, they had been active on the online dating app called Hinge. That is where they found each other and matched instantly.
Thereafter, they went on a date and enjoyed each other’s company which led to a second date. However, things drastically changed on the third date as they decided to take a spontaneous trip to Costa Rica. Their third date just so happened to be in March 2020, right at the beginning of a global lockdown due to the spread of COVID-19, and they were forced to remain together in Costa Rica for the foreseeable future.
The sudden arrangement was challenging for both, as they were practically strangers to each other. Communication became hard, and the dynamics started to change with time. Moreover, they both were unclear about their intentions and feelings towards one another. Confusion about the relationship began to set in, which raised multiple questions. Will they stay together after the lockdown, or is the relationship over? The trailer looks promising, and it will be interesting to witness how they overcome difficult situations.
