With the Like Crazy 3rd win in the bag, BTS’ Jimin is on a winning trajectory that keeps going up. Again at Mnet’s weekly M Countdown broadcast, the singer’s third victory for his debut solo album’s title track was announced on April 6, Thursday. Previously, he bagged the first win for this song at the same music program on March 30, which was followed by the second trophy for it on KBS World’s Music Bank. And, both times he was up against NMIXX’s Love Me Like This.

This triumph marks not only his overall third win for the leading track, but also his second win for the same on M Countdown. Before all that, i.e. even before the release of his album, Jimin had even snagged the big title of the song of the week for his pre-release track Set Me Free Pt 2 on March 23, again on Mnet’s platform.
This time, his song has defeated Flower, the leading track of BLACKPINK Jisoo’s debut solo single album titled ME, which came out on March 31, 2023. Seeking inspiration from the 2011 American romantic drama movie of the same name starring Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin, Like Crazy is a synth-pop song produced by PDOGG and Ghstloop. The singer put out two versions – Korean and English – of the same song on his album FACE that released on March 24.
Written by Pdogg, Blvsh, Chris James, Ghstloop, Jimin, RM, and Evan, both versions chart out different stories. While the Korean version illustrates coming to terms with losing a loved one, but still clinging on to the old reality and memories wherein they exist, the English version has to do more with the burdens of fame and success in the music industry, while fearing the idea of losing oneself in the crowd.
The former’s music paints a gloomy picture of wanting to hold on to something that’s no longer within your reach. The metallic song is thematically inspirited by the movie as mentioned before, since it too addresses the struggles of the leading characters trying their best to keep their long-distance relationship alive. The music video for the same was directed by Oui Kim.
