Liaison Episode 6 Recap
Last episode, Samir, Myriam, Alison and Gabriel had escaped the clutches of the protestors who wanted to punish Alison for killing Natalie. Now the squad takes their time and comes to terms with the events that took place. Alison and Gabriel are in the front seats of the car. They are having an intense conversation about the past and how he and Natalie were only together so Alison could be kept safe from the group.
Alison finally asks Gabriel what he wanted at that time, and he doesn’t give a straight answer which sends her downward on another spiral. She goes back to the house she shares with Albert. He is extremely concerned for her, especially after seeing the scars on her face and the distress she has been carrying for the past five episodes. Albert is not happy that Gabriel is home, and there is already an air of tension thick enough to be cut with a knife.
When Alison and Gabriel are together, there is a magnetic energy that Albert finds absolutely threatening. The confrontation that ensues renders every outburst of testosterone to shame. Unable to take it anymore, Alison kicks Gabriel out of her house. Samir and Myriam are now safe, especially after sharing the drive with Antropa’s documents tying them to the attacks. The British Government is ready to take them away, but things already feel shady.

Not thinking too much of it, Alison makes her way to the Home Office, but her car doesn’t start. Just then, a cab comes in and takes her in. Meanwhile, Gabriel is with other members of the DGSE who are suspicious of the way the Brits are carrying out this investigation. Since a mole from the British Government is also part of this plan, the Brits want to wait to catch them off guard. The French are so annoyed that they send Gabriel to do some reconnaissance on the building.
He sees that everything is being moved, and from a previous conversation with all the leaders of Antropa, we find out that they are all planning to flee. The British don’t want to sign with them, and the French know what they have been up to. Amidst this, they want all their resources back, so Didier brings his wife Sabine to enter all the passwords, using their own son as blackmail material, so he falls in line. She initially sends them on a goose chase after the European Commission is informed of their breach. She is then taken to a separate room with Samir.

The couple and the child were brought to the Antropa building, so he gave them access to the drive. However, Sabine and Samir are soon taken to another room so they can be killed. At this time, Alison is still in the cab that has forcefully brought her to the Antropa building making everyone think that she is the mole. The French and British gear up to go in and end everything. Somewhere else, Samir has created a distraction for Sabine and Myriam to run away, and the latter is aided by Alison and Gabriel, who found their way to each other.
Soon, Gabriel saves Alison and continues fighting the Antropa guards, there are a few gunshots and then dead silence. Taking this as a definitive end for him, Alison leaves to go out. She calls Richard in desperation to let him know about everything. But when he asks her to switch to a secure line by pressing a button and that causes an explosion, she realises just how deep the grave has been dug. But of course, everything is okay because Gabriel walks out of the building alive, and everything is fine with Myriam and her child.

Liaison Episode 6 Review
Endings are supposed to provide some kind of closure, especially one that takes audiences through something incredibly convoluted and detailed. However, the show did not stick the landing. Many things were left up in the air. We followed these characters across their journeys, and we still don’t know where they stand with each other. In long-form content like this, a protagonist is supposed to end up somewhere different than where they started.
In this, Alison is still debating and reassessing her love for Gabriel while also keeping Albert in the loop. Moreover, making Richard the mole was quite predictable and setting him up that way only so he could protect his country is the creative equivalent of a child drawing a sun on the side of the paper. However, the action and the drama are top-notch. For all those who were mostly in for that, they must have had fun watching. For the plot girlies, this finale does absolutely nothing to conclude things.
