Liaison Episode 5 Recap

The new episode picks up from where the previous one ended. Alison and Gabrile successfully escape from the house after it is infiltrated by the intruders. Gabriel dresses up like one of the trespassers and blows up their car to create a distraction so he can reuse Alison’s father. Alison, on the other hand, takes the opportunity to steal their jeep, which was the only means of transportation left for them. Alison’s father is admitted to the hospital in the meantime

Meanwhile, Dumas meets up with Sophie, who works for the French government. He hands the video footage of Taraud coercing Sabina to reveal the password for the EU commission’s top secret documents, which he will send to the private cybersecurity company Antropa. However, the information is of no use to Sophie as Taraud is very powerful and can get her fired immediately. They make a plan to create an extensive report and send it to the President.

Alison meets up with her old friends from the protest rally, but they remain cold towards her due to past misunderstandings. She seeks help from them to move Samir to London and keep him safe. On the other hand, Samir refuses to go to London. He also reveals that he was not behind the cyber attacks. He hacked the system to wipe the police files against Assad, but he soon realised that they were being supplied by Antropa. All the files that contain Atropa’s plans to attack the UK are present in the USB.

The British Government is all set to sign the agreement with Antropa, but Richard remained against the decision. Alison informs him about Antropa’s plans, and he urges her to bring Samir along, as he is the last hope to save the country. Sophia was against the plan of sending Samir to London, but she agreed, but her condition is that Gabriel also goes along with them to provide protection.

Alison and Gabriel, along with Samir and his wife, set sail to London on the boat owned by the protestors. As Gabriel was in the room alone he played the DVD that was sent to Jack, and right then, the protestors also walk inside the room. After watching the footage, they discovered that Alison was the one who killed Natalie, and they grew furious. They grab Alsion and violently abuse her. They also pour gasoline all over her body, and just then, Gabriel arrives and manages to rescue her. Later, the four of them flee from the ship on a lifeboat to a nearby island.

Liaison Episode 5 Review

A lot of revelations were made in this episode. We finally get a clear view of where the series is heading and also the motives behind some characters’ actions. The lingering secrets that were being teased about are out in the open, and we get a vague understanding of the complex relationships. Moreover, we also get the much-needed backstory for the lead characters, which makes the story complete.

However, the major drawback of the episode is the pacing; it moves too slowly and contains an ample amount of filler scenes. In an ideal world, the episodes could be much shorter and did not need to be stretched to 50 minutes.
