LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales Review: Spooky and Entertaining

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales Review: The Halloween special is now out on Disney+. The special stars Jake Green as Poe Dameron; Raphael Alejandro as Dean; Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt; Tony Hale as Vaneé; Christian Slater as Ren; Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine; Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as NI-L8; and Matt Sloan as Darth Vader. Directed by Ken Cunningham, David Shayne wrote the perfect Halloween treat for the fans. The duration of the movie is 45 minutes.

The synopsis reads – Three terrifying tales tell of artefacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales Review Contains Mild Spoilers

The story takes place after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. On Mustafar, Poe Dameron (Jake Green) and BB-8 make an emergency landing. Poe is looking for someone to repair his X-wing spaceship. He meets Graballa the Hutt (Dana Snyder) on Mustafar, who runs Darth Vader’s palace as a luxury hotel with a Sith aesthetic. Graballa, Jabba’s cousin, decides to offer him a free tour of the lavish hotel. Poe meets a young boy, Graballa’s mechanic Dean(Raphael Alejandro), inside the hotel.

Inside the hotel, we meet Vaneé (Tony Hale), a loyal servant of Darth Vader. When Graballa takes Poe, Dean and B-88 to meet Vaneé, Vaneé tells them three terrifying tales from the history of Star Wars. Vaneé carries out his sinister plans as he enthrals everyone with his eerie stories. How will Dean, Poe and BB-8 save themselves and stop Vaneé from causing destruction just like his master? You will get the answers in Disney+ LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales is a good follow-up to the earlier LEGO Star Wars special we watched, but with some horror aspects added. Such movies are always entertaining to watch. David Shayne and Ken Cunningham were wise to limit the special to 45 minutes. It provides a lot while not going overboard in any way.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales follows in the footsteps of Star Wars: Visions as a fantastic addition to the franchise. The voice actors did a brilliant job, and the plot is engaging. I was pleased as I saw multiple references/callbacks to the Star Wars films. The characters are well-written, there is a decent balance of humour and evil, the action scenes are superb, and the ending leaves room for more possibilities. The die-hard fans will love the ending because it will remind them of one of the most iconic moments of a film.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales Review: Final Thoughts

Overall, it’s the LEGO movie we’ve come to anticipate from the franchise. It’s engaging, spooky, and enjoyable. It should be watched without having any second thoughts.

LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
