Koffee With Karan Season 7 is back on Thursday at 7 PM with Episode 4 with its featuring guests Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday. The episode is said to be the coming together of the bold and the beautiful to spill their Koffee beans on the infamous couch and we will get the hottest episode yet.
The synopsis of the episode reads, ‘Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday discuss their dating lives, his B’wood journey and who hung out with whom at KJo’s b-day bash! The Liger co-stars dare to share it all on the couch’. The episode has a runtime of about 53 minutes long.

The host Karan Johar starts off the show with his critique of people getting easily offended nowadays and now he has decided to become politically correct as well. So don’t come after him if he becomes boring, oops, ‘differently interesting’ now. Because apparently, you can’t call people boring anymore, or just didn’t want to be included in that category.
Then he calls upon the breakout star of Telugu cinema, Vijay Deverakonda and the Panday from Johar’s gang, Ananya Panday. They came in holding hands and as soon as the close-up shot of the actress came up on the screen, my eyes squinted involuntarily. She is wearing a bright neon dress and honestly, it just hurts to look at it.
Whether it is the fault of the show’s ‘Jaquar’ lighting or the eye-sore of a dress, it’s hard to watch the close-up shots of Ananya Panday. Moving on, Karan Johar straight away throws questions about Deverakonda’s love life and he says that the other person has to send clear signals to him to get his attention.
On which Panday retorts that she wore this in-your-face dress to get his attention only. They further talk about their upcoming film together called Liger, for which they have come on the show to promote. It will be released next month and while shooting apparently the lead cast went on a date as well, which Ananya wasn’t aware of being one.
That’s when Johar move on to her love life and public breakup with her boyfriend Ishaan Khatter. Ananya says that her life is very ‘undiscreet’ which isn’t the correct word but will be because she said it. She is corrected by Vijay who tells her that it’s indiscreet and then she contradicts herself and says that now she will keep her love life discreet.
Johar further questions her about Suhana & Shanaya debuting, if that would cause rivalry between them and how does she feel being trolled for being a star kid? And to Vijay, he mentions if he likes cheese (referring to Sara Ali Khan & Janhvi Kapoor’s episode) and shows them the compiled video of the actresses fighting over him.
Ananya interjects here and says that she wants to be included in this fight and have some ‘contro’ over her as well (sigh). Anyway, Vijay is also asked about the misogyny shown in the film Arjun Reddy and whether he supports it or not. To which he obviously defended the film and character, calling it a unique relationship between the film characters.
I may not be a fan of Ananya Panday but her answer on whether she would like to have a relationship as shown in the film might make me like her a bit. She pointed out a good point about people start behaving like the reel characters in real life and that’s not okay. That’s why the makers and the actors should call an abusive character as it is, instead of defending it.
Koffee Bingo segment is back in this episode and it ends up revealing the fact that both the guests and the host have had to cover up some hickeys on their bodies with makeup. Concealer to the image rescue! And Vijay might have had some public sex escapades in places like a yacht or cars due to desperate times.
Right after they get Koffee inquisitioned by Johar before moving to rapid fire round. In Panday’s round apart from the generic questions like most desirable male celebrity etc, she said something about Vijay that went over my head, that Vijay is in a hurry to meet Mika Singh (?). If anyone knows what she means then let us know in the comments.
When Vijay Deverakonda was playing the round, on the question about truths & lies, he replied – he wants to be one woman man, he has 5-6 films ahead of him before he quits the industry and he doesn’t know who he is. Now you can decide what is a lie and what’s the truth. And as expected he won the round with 68% of the votes.
Ananya sulks looking at the results and said that she even bribed the voting jury by saying hi. I take back the words I said about her earlier. At last, they play the slam game with Ananya leading the game with her call to Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor.
Koffee With Karan Season 7 Episode 4: Final Thoughts
This episode was below average for sure and there weren’t even some moments that would make the viewers laugh out loud. It felt like two friends meeting up with a new friend and both of them prying to know about the new one. I couldn’t see any of the chemistry between the upcoming co-stars and can see the future of their film already.
