The next day, a happy Gu Won walks to work which surprises Sang-sik and he begins to get suspicious of his boss. Meanwhile, Gu Won is unable to stop himself from being around Sa-rang and spends some time at King the Land while making the other employees sit on needles. They then throw the task of making Gu Won leave on Sa-rang who ends up getting harsh with Gu Won and makes him sulk.
Meanwhile, Sa-rang secretly helps her colleague who is dealing with a customer and is able to take the first step in improving her relationship with those around her. Later, Gu Won discusses his plans for the upcoming event at the hotel with his father, sister and others involved. Hwa-ran tries to show her authority over Gu Won by telling him that this event is that of the hotel.

Gu Won then reverses this by telling her that if the whole hotel needs to be involved in the event then the hotel should be under his management. This surprises everyone but the air soon cools down while Sa-rang arrives to offer condiments to the group when Gu Won rejects her in front of everyone present. She understands what has happened and later meets with Gu Won in secret in order to try and improve his mood.
Unfortunately, the scene once again ends in a bad situation when Gu Won gets startled and pushes Sa-rang who tries to back hug him. Knowing that he has messed up badly, Gu Won tries to get advice from others but is unsatisfied with everything. The next day, he decides to visit Sa-rang’s grandmother but sees her fall as soon as he enters her restaurant.
He rushes her to the hospital and requests her to stay there until all tests are done while the old lady asks him about his feelings towards Sa-rang. Gu Won confesses to her only to soon be left at a loss when she asks him if he asked her out. The old lady is angered when Gu Won asks about the importance of putting all that into words. Leaving everything to fate, the old lady then tells him the importance of the same and why he needs to ask her out formally.

Suddenly, Sa-rang arrives at the hospital and is saddened by her condition. She tells her to take care of herself while the old woman promises to not leave any time soon. The duo then return to the grandma’s restaurant and Gu Won enters with the thought of not leaving until the next day.
The two apologise to each other for their previous behaviour and soon make up while Gu Won pulls Sa-rang’s floor mattress next to his and accompanies her all night. However, this ends up with him being beaten when Sa-rang’s grandmother sees the two sleeping next to each other the next morning.
Later, she leaves the restaurant to Sa-rang and takes Gu Won around the market and introduces him as the number one candidate for Sa-rang. While the others understand that she has chosen Gu Won as her grandson-in-law, they go along with the old lady’s words and start questioning him about various things.

During this, Sa-rang’s grandma finds out that Gu Won has no house and decides to open a housing subscription account for Gu Won. This is to help him buy a house in the future with Sa-rang and is a silent approval from her. Later, she prepares a feast for her future son-in-law before the two leave.
King the Land Episode 9 Ending
Back home, Gu Won tells Sa-rang about the things that happened and wishes to spend more time with her. But right when Sa-rang is to accept the idea, her friends arrive and they all head inside. The two then tell Sa-rang about the happenings at their workplace and how they are only mistreated after having spent all their effort at work.

Gu Won hears this and is angered by the happenings in the King group. He then promises to give them the reward they deserve and passes this task to Sang-sik the next day. Sang-sik, however, understands this to be for the best employees and considers himself as one of them too.
Later, the trip notice is sent to Sa-rang and her friends who soon rush to the airport with their bags and see Gu Won waiting for them. However, Gu Won is soon surprised when he sees Sang-sik there too and rushes to stop him from revealing his true identity. Sang-sik takes this as a chance to take revenge on his boss and begins to show his superiority while Gu Won sighs at the trip that is up ahead.

King the Land Episode 9 Review
Episode 9 brings another wave of fluff as Gu Won and Sa-rang continue to melt our hearts, only this time they are actually dating and bringing in more excitement with their chemistry. Meanwhile, it seems like Gu Won is playing a game with Hwa-ran but not really going all out against her as of yet.
The upcoming episode will definitely have a lot more fluff for us all, but it may also contain hidden dangers for the couple’s relationship and a turning point for Gu Won.
