King the Land Overview

King the Land (킹더랜드) is a rom-com Kdrama that brings the story of an heir and an employee who works at one of the hotels owned by his family. Directed by Im Hyun-wook, the drama stars Lee Jun-ho, Lim Yoon-a (Yoona), Go Won-hee, Kim Ga-eun, Ahn Se-ha, and Kim Jae-won, alongside other cast members.

The drama brings the story of the heir Goo Won who has been thrown into an inheritance war, and the happy Cheon Sa-rang, whose smile moves him like no other. As the two begin to spend more time together, a beautiful love begins to bloom in their story.

Lee Jun-ho was last seen on The Red Sleeve as Yi San / King Jeongjo, while Yoona played audience-favourite Go Mi-ho in 2022’s hugely popular Big MouthKing the Land takes over the jTBC’s Saturday-Sunday 22:30 PM KST time slot previously occupied by Doctor Cha.

King the Land Plot

Netflix’s synopsis of the show reads: “Amid a tense inheritance fight, a charming heir clashes with his hardworking employee who’s known for her irresistible smile — which he cannot stand.”

King the Land Cast

Directed by Im Hyun-wook, the drama stars Lee Jun-ho, Im Yoon-ah, Go Won-hee, Kim Ga-eun, Ahn Se-ha, and Kim Jae-won, alongside other cast members.

Gu Won rescues Sa-rang and the bond between the two continues to get stronger. However, their adventures do not end here as the workload of this small village is thrown at them. Later, Gu Won makes a new move at King the Land while his relationship with Sa-rang takes another new turn.

Gu Won celebrates Sa-rang’s birthday with matching outfits for the two and a romantic dinner. However, the mood is ruined when Sa-rang’s ex-boyfriend appears out of nowhere when he drops her home. He then tries to guilt-trip Sa-rang only to fail and get a good reply from the two.

The next day, Sa-rang meets Gu Won after work and repays his kindness with a small gift. She then tries to leave after sending him the gift when he asks her to have dinner together. The two share a good time with each other, however, witnessing Sa-rang making calls to all the VIPs on the list provokes Gu Won.

He then sends the staff of King the Land in the Group’s program and Sa-rang ends up with the most dangerous one. She then makes her way to the woodland while Gu Won worries for her. This gets worse when he finds out about the weather conditions and gives her a call.

He does not delay to leave Seoul while Sa-rang falls off a cliff while celebrating having found ginseng. She later wakes up and finds out the situation she is in but is soon rescued by her Knight in black armour as he jumps down the cliff to protect her.
